Yup, I just figured out, the upper quartile for postcount in these forums is a mere 17, and the lower quartile is 1. That means anyone with a postcount over 41 (17 + 1.5 * the interquartile range) is an outlier, strictly speaking. That means we have a total of 124 outliers in these forums. Holy shit. Can you say "right skewed distribution"?

Well, we have 855 total members, although how many active members we have depends on how you define "active". All I said was that we have 124 members with a postcount over 41, but as you said, many of them are inactive, and there are probably also some newbies who are quite active.

This is isn't really that abnormal, especially on smaller forums. I know one where there are only 101 members and the average postcount is 413 per user.

 

Well, I recalculated only this time, I didn't count users with a postcount of zero. It still didn't raise the requirement for outlierhood by much, only to 52 instead of 41.
