Sure, I love checkers. I used to play it all the time. What gave you the sudden urge to want to play a game so non-related to anything talked about on these forums?

Yes, It does look similar to your thread. But I don't think in making this thread the OP was hopeing for complete randomness. :p

Yes, at first the thread was to be nothing more than a jest of Freeze's, but instead of it just being a random spam thread I gave it a meaning.

At first I wanted to make the thread "I wanna get Queen'd" and have something about Chess inside, but I didn't go with it since I knew it wouldn't make sense.

But, just as much as I like Chess I also like Checkers, thus this thread was born.

But you can put alot more strategy into chess, it makes things more interesting. Checkers just feels like a dumbed down version of chess. I actually remember figuring out how to play chess with a deck of cards on a school trip, I still know how.

Though if you said chinese checkers then I would have dropped everything to play. :p
Chinese checkers is much more interesting than normal checkers.

Well it is very hard to compare Chess and Chinese Checkers because they are different. Even though you don't lose peices, making a bad move in Chinese Checkers can send your opponent halfway across the board. Like chess you must keep track of what happens on the board. Plus Chess has been around forever, so try something new.

Chinese Checkers > Chess > Normal Checkers

There's a reason why Chess has been around forever, it's the perfect game of skill and wits.

No way! The game's totally unbalanced! I mean, the Queen can move in any direction in any number of spaces, while the pawn can only move forward one. Checkers is a way more balanced game for us hardcore gamers.

Say that to the fighting game fanatics. Fox only, no items, Final Destination. Obviously the epitome of balance AND skill.

(And I'm joking btw.)

Chess is a game of becoming a queen regardless of your gender.

And I cannot find any sets of Chinese Chess inclusive of a how-to-play guide!!!!!!!!

One thing I don't get, why would the Queen be sent to battle, let alone be more powerful than all of the king's warriors.

And if anyone missed that paragraph on the General piece from chinese chess...

Here it is:
Legend has it that originally the pieces were known as emperors, but when an emperor of China heard about the game, he executed two players for "killing" or "capturing" the emperor piece. Future players called them generals instead.
