Hello Cave Story. I've lurked around this board for approximately two days and I've played Cave Story for some time now. I decided why make a thread when I can use this one.
3:55.3 seems to be good according the reactions Daniel G got but I'm not satisfied. I'm going for ultimately sub 3 minutes but I want to try for sub 3:3 first. I have speed run questions too.
1. Best way to level missiles?
2. Best way to take out Ballos 3rd form in one run?
3. Best times on this site?
I really appreciate your time looking at this. Guess this is the my story for sub 3.

To answer the 2nd one, in my opinion just charged spur shots do the job or maybe a couple missles since you dont really use to much on the last form since you only need about 10 to take him out
the 3rd one im not sure but people will probably say theirs, also check youtube they probably have the best times there since people upload it to show off

I've gotten 3:07 with the spur and 3:00:04 with the snake >_<. I don't have any screenshots, but i do have the 290.rec files(the only things i have screenshots of are of seriousface's boss rush(non-stop), where i got 6:19)
Level up your missiles on your way down the chute at the beginning and after you beat Ballos' first form(just jump and shoot at the green things flying around)
To beat Ballos' third form, you should get in front of it at the start, then shoot up. When Ballos is on the ceiling, shoot super missiles from below until you have 12-13 left(that's how many you need to beat the last form).
Also, if you are using the spur, i found a place where you can shoot through walls : Right before the room before the room with the box of missiles, if you boost towards the timer bomb and shoot a level 2 spur shot when you hug it, it will shoot both that one, and the bomb after it saving you 5 seconds.

I saw the Japanese sub 3 one, it was pretty damn good.
The hug the wall trick works with Nemesis too... I was just not doing it to those walls. This should help me shave quite a lot of time.
Yeah the bats help in leveling up a lot... I'm fairly inconsistent with leveling up before Heavy Press though.
Also,
