At level two he throws a bukkit that's on fire. Don't question it; it's video game logic, which Pixel implemented quite often.

True, there were some points in the game on my first playthrough, where the words WTF came out of my mouth quite often. Only later did I have a clue of what was going on.

I never beat the game on easy mode. Go figure...

This is going to be way off topic, but I'm still going to say this:
Some people say that Sue is supposed to be the girl that Quote gets at the end. Some say it's Curly. Obviously it depends on which ending you complete. But I think that choice also determines who Quote wants to be with 'til the end of his days. Because if you go into Sacred Grounds, it's pretty obvious that Quote doesn't care about Sue enough to see her to safety, and he's either following his Iron Bond or just hiding from the falling blocks. If you follow Sue, then Quote might have his regrets about leaving Curly and the rest of the island behind, but he's following his heart (awwww mushy).

And the fire DOES animate, but it's hard to see.

Also, next time you see Kanpachi, be sure to ask him what he keeps in these buckets. Flaming bucket WTF?

Hey guys we should make a mod where you play a bucket that shoots buckets on an island made of buckets inhabited by buckets that is being taken over by the bucket of an expedition from the surface of a big bucket.

It would be like the Blade at level 3 except Kanpachi would launch himself, and wouldn't be a ghost.

On another note, I'm a bit surprised the other characters in Cave Story never say anything about being attacked by a phantasmal rabbit if you use the Blade on them. Especially Misery and the Doctor, who killed him in the first place.

It's probably a bad idea to use the level 3 blade against Misery...
Anyway, I already had an idea of what the level 3 would be like. Flaming fish fly out of the flaming bucket when he throws it. Or something along those lines, if that's too hard to make.

Shouldn't be too hard, easier than the level 2 where I couldn't get the placement right.
But the fire won't animate anymore. (Not like it was very noticeable anyways.)

Yea, i full screened the youtube video, and I still barely saw it animate, but it's all good.

It's only 2 frames and I moved some pixels around.
Also found a small error, with the level 1 bucket, he throws it at his level, but with the level 2, he throws it over his shoulder.
So how about napalm-fried chinfish flying out of a flaming bucket?
And what size are the little slashes?

I dunno, but the slashes will make no sense...

WAIT! HE THROWS A ATOMIC BUKKIT!! and we use the missle launcher explosion for impact, making it area damage!

We could change the slashes into explosions.

I'm sure there's some way to change the impact;
I think it would be possible with hex, but I don't know where to look for it...
