How to get the mushroom badge?

From what I can gather from a FAQ, I need the mushroom badge from the mushroom before I can fight him. When I talk to him he just asks if I have business with him, and whichever answer I choose, nothing happens. I have the 2.0 booster, amnesia Curly is in the plantation, the rocket is built... What do I need to do?

 

...you should be able to get it at that point then... Any more details?

Yes you can. I've done it on several playthroughs; got everything for Ms. Sakamoto first, got my Booster back, and then went for Ma Pignon. Worked fine.

 

You kind of need the booster to get to Ma Pignon anyway, unless you have the Machine Gun.

You need to talk to Curly first, then to Ctulthu who otherwise doesn't, as far as my knowledge goes, say anything about Curly. Make sure you hear something about a mushroom.

 

SP-san, admit it. Or are you saying you're dead not going to Hell (which is a good thing ) once you get yourself into a Mimiga Mask before remembering who Curly is and making her remember who you are?

Yes it does. I've done it.

You get Ma Pignon first, then talk to Ms. Sakamoto to get the Mimiga mask and lose your Booster. You go down and talk to Curly (perfectly possible to get down and up w/o Booster) and when you give her the Ma Pignon, your mask is disabled for the duration of the dialog. After the event, it returns.

I got my l337 Machine Gun

 

To be able to examine it and subsequently be able to start that bloody yes/no thing with ma and grab him to eventually jam it into Curly's mouth. Millenium-posts N00B.



Btw afaicr if you talk to Curly with the mask before she remembers you, she'll say you're hot.
