What would you say is the hardest enemy (Non-boss/Sub-boss) in any video game? Explain why it is the toughest and possible tell a bad experiece with it.

I say Iron Golem from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. It has 9999 HP and has a defence so high all attacks are reduced to 1 damage. But he has 1 flaw. If you collect a rare soul (Spell gained from enemy) You can kill him in 1 hit. But I DIDN'T KNOW MY FIRST RUN! He has no MP so the Killer Mantle Soul kills him in 1 Hit. The Killer Mantle Swaps the MP and HP of a target. Sometime you can make them weak, other times you can make them Regretably harder.

The jinx from Super Smash Bros. Brawl because they are invincible and great in number.
Not really.
From Skyrim I think the dragons are pretty hard. At least from what I heard from some friends, since I don't own an xbox 360 (or Skyrim)

The hardest enemy That isn't a boss?

I don't know... I know plenty of tough bosses, but a killer normal guy? Hmm...

Well, some enemys are tougher than bosses. Especially Iron Golems.

@linkruler You have to play the game to actually mark them as tough. But dragons aren't tough. I killed one easily. Only a Silver longsword and a Healing spell. and the dragons are bosses.

Imagine a boss that, to be defeated =for good=, takes three groups assaulting him when he's alone, one after the other, then a (literal) rain of arrows. And only THEN a uphill 1x1 fight to finally die. Oh, and did I mentioned that, while the game counts heavily on magic spells, all that Luca Blight have is a full body armor and a sword, nothing else? Not even some curse or upper-hand artifact that grants him that much stamina? He manages to be the hardest boss of the whole Suikoden series by only having a ungodly amount of willpower O~O;;

Oh, and if he's not stopped, two countries will be slaughtered, for his personal revenge and bloodlust. S'yeah, there ain't a "good reason I cannot die" to back up his survivability.

The black hole enemy in the megamen starforce series. You can only hurt them with sword type attack, it drains your hp periodicaly by large chucks, and it alway is in front of you, blocking your line of fire.

Okay. So, I'm playing VVVVVV, and this big box comes at me, this big box with the word AVOID on it. IT SPLITS INTO EIGHT. I try and get through the section for about two and a half hours, and then give up. Note: I haven't played this game in a while, so I don't remember it perfectly.

VVVVVV is an indie game where all you can do is walk and flip gravity. If you hit a spike or an enemy you die and go to the last checkpoint you touched. I somehow managed to get in the middle of the enenies.

I just beat VVVVVV a couple weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure I don't remember AVOID splitting up into peices. The primary game itself wasn't particularly hard, although there were a couple tricky shiny widgets to grab.

Ghasts in Minecraft.

I once spent 10 minutes trying to kill one with its own fireballs before a second one came along and killed me.

The biggest problem for me is the fact that they always slightly overshoot when above you, making it really hard to send their projectiles back at them.

I'm getting better at it though. (grabbing single player commands didn't hurt either)

Yeah, I wish Notch would add the abiliity to get Ghast Fireballs after you kill them and use them as an exploding projectile.
Just imagine killing one whilst your render distence is set to tiny. :p

I personally can't do well against Utsuho Reiuji, from Subterranean Animism. Might just be me though.
