I wonder if that means if it's made of cake...
Anywho! Look what I just saw!

Original Link shall be.....Here!!
Now I'm worried about what other things have been misnamed...

Comments? Thoughts? Theories? :D

EDIT:
Oh yeah, by the way, the real name's "Bushland"...
...I liked Grasstown better.. >.>;

Actually it's more or less a language barrier that created all this. If I recall, there was another thread about this, saying that the "real" name of grass town was actually weed town, but seeing as that can be misinterpreted and abused, AG translated it to grass town. At least that's what I remember. Although tbh, bushlands seems like the most accurate translation, seeing grass town was never really a town. Only thing I'd have to say is that there's not enough bushes for it to really warrant the name, but now I'm just being picky. Bushlands is okay by me.

I'd say that it doesn't matter how much accurate a translation is, as long as it's accurate enough and sounds well. Grasstown is just fine, I guess.

Yeah, a lot of people are pointing out the Data files, where the tileset is labeled "Weed".
They also think that AG translated it into Grasstown because Weed is used to describe Grass in Japanese...
But I liked Grasstown way better D=
"Land"'s been overused WAY too much.....It's like in the title of over 7,000 games.... >.>; {Give or take a digit:D}

And I couldn't agree more on the language barrier!
Although, language itself is a bit ineffective, but I'm not gonna go into a big lecture and derail this thread, when it's only 5 posts in...

Although, I'm worried about what else was mistranslated...

"Litgano Motscoud" was meant to be either "Iratagonom Ustukuod" or "Yrots Sevac", Koron was meant to be Colon I think, there was also the use of "Earth" instead of "surface" in the bad ending, plus a few other "game to credits" translation inconsistencies such as Sacred Grounds/Bloody Holy Land (sounds like a literal translation to me), Rabil/Ravil, and I can't remember the rest.

I want to play the Wii Version just to compare the script. Actually I think I should note down any differences in the script for use in the "Theories" subforum.

Bushland is fine btw. Quit complaining.

You're right. I started that speculation under Cave Story Officially Announced for WiiWare, post #10.

Well, whatever. I'll support Pixel in his decision.

In other mostly unrelated news, "Piston Honda" is now "Piston Hondo"

I liked the stereotypical car reference better. ):

Bushland...Sounds like the US's president during 2000-2008. /corny

It was up to AGTP's best decision to find which translation and renamings are accurate and have a nice ring in English. Obviously the English language has as much slang as the Japanese, probably more, and etc. When literally translating, there's bound to be some...yeah, little language differences here and there.

Bushtown is great, but I love Grasstown much more~ Probably because I'm so used to it. (:

It's not like there was a whole lot to talk about in the first place.

Grasstown > Weedtown.

Grassland would have been good, but I am happy with Bushland.

Iono...
Grasstown kinda had a ring to it, and sounded pretty original...
I suppose it's just because of all my memories of that area are attached to the name "Grasstown", and not "Bushland"...
All well.

Eh...Well, there are houses...Chaco's home, the abandoned place, Santa's house, etc. etc...So it makes sense it was a town. Residents this and residents that. As mentioned before, Land is stereotypical. :X

Yeaaaaahhh, it's hard to let go of things that have been the same for oh so long.

Well, I still perfer Grasstown much like how I perfer to call Pluto a planet still, its just something I've grown use to. Bushlands does make more sense, but come on, I hope they give the option of using the "Misinterpreted" version :D
