How 'bout it? Lance from Pokemon Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal.

I was surprised we didn't already have this one. Unless I somehow couldn't find it. Anyway, Lance is alright, but he's got nothing on the King of Evil, Ganon. I had one of the earlier cartridges when he still had red blood. Probably the most intense boss fight and ending I had ever seen.

I'm a fan of the second boss in Lyle in Cube Sector (the giant mosquito) just for the sheer creativity of it. It's the only thing I've seen which combines a platformer with a breakout game.

One of my favorites is the final boss from Sonic the hedgehog 3 and Knuckles. He's a giant robot (bigger than the screen, supposedly) and tries to crush you, but fails somehow.

A more recent favorite of mine would have to be the final boss of Jable's adventure. Not a particularly hard boss, but the way you had to defeat him was fun.

The real final boss in CV: Aria of Sorrow is amazing, but I can't really go into any detail about why without spoiling the entire storyline.

Also the final boss in Banjo Tooie on N64 is great, it's full of humor and has tons of phases. That's really how all boss fights should be IMO, drawn out and with multiple phases.

I'm surprised no one tried to argue with me over the matter of, "Lance isn't a 'boss' he's a Gym Leader; and blah, blah with a layer of kuso on top." Well, my 2nd favorite would be (I don't understand why everyone hates touhou, but) Cirno, from Touhou EoSD. Don't kill me!

That's like arguing that facing Darth Vader in a video game isn't a boss by saying "HE ISN'T A BOSS HE'S A SITH MASTER" or whatever.

Surprisingly I can't remember the last time I faced a fulfilling boss, seeing as I've played so few level/boss related games in the past few years, minus Cave Story.

Ganondorf/GANON in Ocarina of Time. The music (especially in the GANON sequence of the battle) is just so epic. A pounding, heroic tune with a slight hint of "you're totally fucked".

ALSO: It's got Link slashing GANON's face to oblivion, finishing with a deep stab. Glorious N64 blood spewage.

Ganon in Zelda: A link to the past and the final boss in FFIV. Don't want to spoil that for those who haven't played it.

damn it GIR you stole mine

I guess I'd go with the Masked Man battle from Mother 3

it's such a unique battle, and it's a prime example of storytelling in video games. The music, along with how the battle plays out like a story made me do something I hadn't done for years

I always like the bosses in Baldur's Gate, etc, cause you can save up all your spells and fireball their brains out, and I get overexcited.

There are probably several I could mention, so for now I'll make note of one in particular: Lashiec from Phantasy Star IV. Why is this fight a big deal?

Because I haven't even played Phantasy Star IV yet. That's how awesome it is.

I'd have to go with the Porky Statue from M

THER3. Attempting it without using a NYE Bomb or PK Flash is helluva intense. Though most know they can't win, even with hacks, its a fun thing to attempt anyway. I've even tried.

To the point of breaking the game. I don't think it's possible.

I have never seen an epic boss like "Magus"! in all the games I played.
