• Hey everyone happy Christmas Eve we're aware of what's happened with the source code so to keep this simple absolutely don't post it on the site or use it to make mods with (it's not particularly preferable toward this end anyway) and tread lightly in general until we see how this settles, thanks to all and have a great holiday season -DT

also recently obtained the WII version and i am playing on hard i didn't like some of the changed Dialog didn't like the dialog changes because some removed some of the lines i found hinting of Misery's emotion towards Quote.
still my biggest fuel for her emotions towards quote was that i get the feel she holds back on Quote(which was even more empowered due the fact She is the first boss i no scratched(first time was the second battle i had against her which really surprised me)

I don't think Misery has a crush on Quote... but, she probably wants him to succeed. She doesn't *want* to fight Quote; she doesn't want to be controlled and kill people for the Demon Crown owner...

When Quote takes on BAllos and WINS. Misery is probably greatful beyond words. She sends Balrog to save you after all...

On a sidenote :
I wonder if Misery lost her magic power when Ballos was defeated?
Did the Seal Chamber block her teleport into the chamber?

Maybe Misery inherits her power through bloodline? Maybe she was born without strong magic power like Jenka and Ballos...
If so... maybe, the Demon Crown was a shortcut to gaining magic.

Cause' thinking about it, what did Ballos have that Misery did not? First thing that comes to mind is incredible magic power.
So the most obvious answer is that she wanted some of that power too.

If her name was always Misery; why such a name? Perhaps because she is a great witch's daughter, that was born with barely any magic power...

Alternative to tapping into Ballos' power...?
Control over the island? A Crown is a symbol of a ruler. So,... it would stand to reason; that she wanted control of the island (destroyed kingdom?) so that she could start her own...

Another alternative :
Control over something else... "Demon Crown".
Control "demons?"
For instance how the Crown let's the ruler control those possessed by the "Demon Flower". (Frenzied Mimigas).

...
well I've gotten off topic!

Anyways, Misery probably just feels indebted to Quote. A crush though? I don't see it... :p In fact I don't recall any fan art of Qu-

... wait nevermind... there was one... ><

could be but i've only seen her not wanting to fight Quote and well not counting the official Curly mode(changed text and mostly just a graphic change)

yeah it is clear she send Balrog to save you after Ballos's demise but i don't recall the motivtions told so depending on how you percepted what she said during the game you get different ideas to her motivations.

could be she used that but i think she wanted it to controlled the frenzied mimiga rather then magical strength(for more talk on this we should make a thread about it)

I think she already had strong magic at her disposal. however i find it is not the strength of your weapons but rather how you use it what determines how usefull and effective it is.

dunno if her name was always hat but i think it is more the emotion then lack of magical strength as she isn't the first with named after emotions i know(Hatred, Despair and Anger to name a few)

those a possible reasons too and like i said i don't think it was for magical power but to rule something.

like i said with the what she wanted the crown for part i think that is what she wanted to controll(probably the were just mad when the crown didn't exist)

and well i be there are more(even ones with a certain rule added but i doubt those would be posted on these forums:rolleyes:)

anyway even if you see hints differently with these theories. you don't know if they are true unless an official source confirms what is said.
