You can't delete threads
That's why you need to think about what you're posting because if you make a dumb thread it's there forever and everybody will see it and judge you.

On topic...
From what I've seen, Deus Ex Human Revolution looks pretty bad-ass. I may buy it in the future, but I'm in a rather interesting position where I have so many games that I don't have time to play them all, let alone buy a new one.

My apologies, but this isn't really the thread for that.

This thread makes me cry.

But, at the risk of going even further off-topic:
From what I've seen of the game it looks great, from what I've played it's meh.
I am assuming that you are incorrectly referring to Deux Ex: Human Revolution as the name of it's higher quality predecessor, and if not, then I've completed it and it's great.

Human Revoloution is not as good.

I think it's a safe bet to assume your talking about the very newest one. I only own the original which is highly regarded. I thought it was unique. I've never beat it because i quickly get bored from it and play somethign else.

I too have far too many games at this point.

I got DE:HR and was very disappointed. This is my scale for rating games: how long they can keep me off TF2. Deus Ex lasted a whole fifteen minutes. The lagg was atrocious, and the graphics made the game look like it wasn't finished. 3/10.

Get a better computer...?
Maybe you could give your opinion on things that aren't determined by your video card, since I've seen my friend play it on his monster of a computer and it looks like great fun.

Well, I was watching my friend playing it on an Xbox 360. Graphics look average and it looked like just another FPS, but the game play looked pretty cool. Ah who am I kidding... it does look like a normal FPS :debug:

I should probably judge it fairly by actually playing the game, but the intro looks long and I'd rather play other games. I'm impatient I KNOW

I'm going to have to agree with Captain Fabulous.
Obviously, your computer can't handle a some-year-engine that can even run on Flash.

Also, an FPS does not need to have good graphics to be fun. Just look at Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. You know, when FPS's were played for fun. (For example, back in the day, we played FPS's for the fun of shooting Demons, Barons, Pig Cops, and Octobrains.)

I have never had any problems running any other high-quality or process intensive games. There shouldn't be a reason why Dubious Ex-wife: Horrible Route-canal should be an exception. I own a 2009 Dell xps 8100- quad core i5 with 8 gigs of RAM - if the recommended computer specifications are above that to play this game, I'll eat my hat.

I think the game's engine may be the issue, but that still isn't an excuse. My graphics card isn't that old. The point is I spent $60 on a game that looks like it's worth $20.

Trust me when I say that I don't form an opinion on a game due to it's graphics. For some reason my computer just hates Deus Ex and refuses to render it at a high resolution. Heck, I could care less how my computer rendered the graphics if the gameplay ran smoothly. There's a several second delay when looking around, shooting, and moving.

If the game ran smoothly, I would give it a 7.5/10. If the graphics also rendered correctly, I could give it a 9/10. My game is practically unplayable in it's current state.

just posting to say that every time I see the title of this thread I laugh

I was also going to make a "I never asked for this" joke but I can't really fit one in without it seeming really awkward

Maybe. It seems I'm not the only one experiencing these difficulties, however.
