I hope everyone found some enjoyment out of the modding competition. But now, it's time for ...

Well, those are the entries. I can't do anything about it.

True, I give Cyber credit for making a decent grabbag of mods so there is variety. At least he wasn't the only one to make mods.

Yeah, with an extendes deadline it was bound to happen. I'm excited you and Doublethink tried to throw your hats in the ring, at least there will be some competition.

 

I can already see how this is going to end, but that depends on whether or not zxin decides to be contrarian. Contrarianism won't be an issue if someone else decides to judge, though.

This thread is for the discussion of mods entered into the competition, not the contest itself, as clearly stated in the OP.

What I said previously was aimed towards both the contest itself as well as its entries. There's no need to dictate the discussion.

here's my twitch

 

Stream's over so here's some rankings from worst to best.

5. "#4" is absolute last place for being yet another garbage spike maze.
4. "The Nine Rooms". I don't understand what this is other than a mess. I can't tell the theme and it just feels like I'm walking forever pointlessly even though I'm picking up items.
3. "Flight". It's OK. Flight 2 is OK too. They should be the same game. I don't know why a mod and a SEQUEL TO THAT MOD would be allowed in the same competition. It's nothing but an excuse to take up another slot. The mechanics are neat even if they are missing polish just whyyyyyyyy
2. "A Fresh Coat"

The top two were in a category of their own, but were also very close. DT's mod has an interesting theme and mechanics to go along with it, and the gameplay and puzzles were relaxing even while challenging near the end. This is the kind of gameplay to expect from something that isn't hyper-hard mod slurry or a proof of concept. The dialogue was pretty fun too, and there was a lot of polish that just wasn't in the rest of the mods.
Noxid's mod was the most technically impressive, and, well...terrifying. It didn't have the gameplay that a game should have, but for the point of the mod that was fine. It still had a bit of platforming which was neat.
Ultimately, I think A Fresh Coat is the best Game. However, looking at the criteria for this contest (vague as they are) it seems that the point of the contest was to create something unique from a fresh exe. In that sense, Noxid's is clearly the most unique. If the criteria for the contest was cleared up then DT's might take the spotlight instead.

Yes. Me... and... uh, well, you volunteered, but we're not on particularly good terms; and I hadn't heard anything from you in several months.

You could've just, y'know, shot him a message telling him to get ready for judging. Even the forums' PM system would have worked.
