CSTSF Starbound server

Hey everyone

If you don't know already, Starbound 1.0 recently was released. I'll be hosting a server for anyone that wants to join and yiff until I get bored of it or people stop using it.
You can join by connecting to gameserv.noxid.ca, default port. No password currently but I may add one if there are problems.

rules are: dont fuck with other peoples shit
If you have a planet that you want protected, msg me and I can create a builder list for you

so how are we suppose to join? do I use join game in multiplayer or do I choose start game and try to travel to your planets?

 

you use "join game" with any of your existing characters (or create a new one for the server, idc) and then you are playing on the server. you can chat and play the game like normal but with other people.

 

I'm tempted to check it out, but my internet's been on the fritz since last night. Hopefully it will clear up soon. Also, does it matter how far we are into the game?

 

It shouldn't matter. Anyone is free to do the storyline at their own pace, although the gas station has some spoilers that appear to everyone on the server so if you really care about that stuff you might wanna run the main quests on your own first.
Some people are endgame and I think some are still working through it.

so I understand that the server name is "gameserv.noxid.ca"
and the port is "default" of which I'm interpreting as don't type anything in there
what do I put in for the server address? I tried leaving it blank nothing and that didn't work. putting in the planet address yielded no results either

I then try "gameserv.noxid.ca" as the server address instead to see what would happen...

If you're getting an error, try turning on "allow assets mismatch" in options. I don't know if that'll help but hey it might.

up to date and still isn't letting me on.

And its only leading me to believe more and more that someone is posing as me

 

there's a bug where if you try to join with outdated assets then it ghosts you and it has to be kicked manually
you should try again

 

Can you bring planets with you that you've build offline? I doubt it's possible, but i do have something under construction so it'd be good to know before i should keep building.

Did you try copying over the appropriate .world files from i.e.
"SteamApps\steamapps\common\Starbound\giraffe_storage\universe" ?
Haven't tested it yet, but it sounds like it would work if both are the same version?
Then you could send them to Noxid if he is willing?

(As always backup stuff before trying stuff)

 

well nonetheless i made a start building on some planet but it d/c'd me and i cannot get back in

Is the server down today? Its been working for me now that I use a different name. But today I keep getting this message:

Somebody might have tried to join with a mod which crashes the server with no survivors.

Unfortunately I'm not around until later tonight to fix it

nice bar, though it could use some more color. I left a fridge on top of the bar with some decorations that might help. Careful though, some of them are fragile.
