Hello. I have a few questions regarding the file format of the OST for console ports of Cave Story.
This concerns three ports: the WiiWare version, Cave Story 3D and the Switch port of Cave Story +.

I know that the PC versions (the OG Cave Story, the Plus version and mods like Encore) only have the Organya soundtrack as sequenced music while the others are streamed by .ogg files.
I thought it was more or less the same for console ports, until I found the MIDI files for the New Soundtrack on the Fandom website. From this point, I started wondering if there wasn't sequenced files of the Remastered Soundtrack on 3DS and/or on Switch.

You probably guessed my questions already:
- Is the Remastered Soundtrack sequenced in Cave Story 3D and/or Cave Story + for the Switch?
- If it is, is there a way to translate it into MIDI format and the instruments into a SoundFont?

the only MIDI soundtrack is technically the WiiWare soundtrack (the "new" soundtrack option)
all others, aside from the Organya sountrack, are streamed .ogg files, meaning no, the Remastered/CS3D soundtracks cannot be translated to the MIDI format directly.

Unless someone tries to contact Danny Baranowsky and ask for the source files, and be answered with a sounding "no", because yeah, it depends on whether or not he can, but Nicalis won't let him, or Nicalis does allow him to, but he's not interested in sharing it himself. Also it's probably best to assume all of the CS3D/Remastered soundtrack was made with a program like FL Studio, meaning if you have an ear for what instruments/libraries are being used, it shouldn't be too difficult to recreate the songs themselves.

I need to clear up some misconceptions here. There was a midi soundtrack for CS Wii, but it wasn't used in the final game. The midi files were found leftover in the resource files for the Wiiware port. You can consider them to be a beta version of the Wiiware soundtrack.

Even in the Wiiware port, the final Wiiware soundtrack is in ogg format, not midi.

The midi files and the soundfont (provided by their creator) can be found here:

You need to use the soundfont to make the midi files sound like they were intended to sound.

Regarding the Wii Soundtrack, I already have the MIDI files and the SoundFont; that's why I misinterpreted the soundtrack as sequenced and asked all these questions.
Concerning the Remastered Soundtrack, it makes sense it's all .ogg, as the Smash cartridge could hold some of the streamed music from Brawl. However, I have no intention to recreate it myself, it's too much work! (and too expensive, I can't afford a subscription to FL Studio)
The major reason I asked was to have a visual of the reinstrumentation so I could find inspiration in case I want to make a cover, but that's not a problem: I have the .xm conversions of the Organya soundtrack, the MIDI files from the Wii, and I'll guess by ear for the rest.
Anyway, thank you all for your quick and precise answers (and regarding you, kurosurintomasu: this Organya cover rocks).
