I never knew either until I read the Movie Script thread (And a few others). It's strange how Windows XP's Speech tool calls { a 'Curly Bracket' however...

Perhaps Curly Bracket was the name of one of the unnamed ('???') characters on Nator's Legacy Story mod?

Wait as long as you want, at this point, its not that helpful though. So I'd suggest for you to go look at old topics with the Search function.

 

Are there any programs that can edit .pbm files without having to save them in .bmp form? (like paint does)

I've searched, but found nothing that is freeware and could convert bmp files into pbm form.

 

Save it as a .bmp in Paint.

So the filename is WHATSHISFACE*.bmp, rename it to WHATSHISFACE**.pbm

VOILA DONE

Tried and failed. I tried to use it in the game and all I got was a message that I could not understand... wait, do all of the files in the same folder have to be bmps? I remember Xaser's mod uses bmp format...

All mods do use the bmp format, please search again before asking. <_<
There is no other format than the bitmap format, the original Cave Story uses it too.

I finally found out how to change the file, and all it took was a hex editor and some near-mind snapping searching. Thanks for the help, S.P., and you too jc. ^v^ (and sorry for being a total noob ^^')
