Cave Story 3D - New Stuff List

This thread is essentially a list of the new stuff in Cave Story 3D, gameplay wise. Like, posting new locations of life capsules, major translation edits, new levels, etc.

So post away!

 

They changed the translation? I wan't aware of that. I haven't found any new areas yet, either... ">_>

I think we should keep some kind of list with all of the new Life Capsules that they added. The obvious ones that I found was the one in Arthur's House (+2HP) and the one next to the Power Room in Bushlands (+??).

New Areas:

Larger Curly labrynth.
Larger Egg Corrider?.
Area after you finish fighting undead core and you are running away from falling blocks.

 

I'm disapointed they have no Hero's End music in it...

 

What, they don't! That's a shame.

 

Just picked up my copy, and I'm pretty sure I found something in Egg Corridor...

It looks like the corridor before Igor is extended quite a bit and you can walk under it with the little white enemy. I'm pretty sure you can get all the way to the back with the Booster 2.0, but I'm not that far yet.

Anyway, some small changes:

-There's a "Press Down to do things" dialogue in the Start Point.
-There's a sign in the First Cave that says the bridge is out and to jump over the water.
-The robot in Egg Corridor is inaccessible.
-After you sleep with Chako, she's passed out on the floor instead of in the bed. You can still talk to her, though. (?)

Bugs:

-Pressing Home makes the music skip erratically when you return.
-The minimap for Santa's house puts the save and heal icons in the wrong place.
-Balrog says "Oh Yeaah!" instead of "Huzzah!"

I'll keep adding as I play.

Nope. When you get the new booster, it turns into Egg Corrider?.
But, if you look i my previos post you can see whet it turns into.

Nope. There is a small gap in which you can reach him.

It's been like that since they released the wii version, so that's nothing new

 

I am not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else, but did anybody else get the holographic-ish cover with the game? Pretty pointless but cool, lol.

It looks like it's impossible to do a 3-HP run on this one. You can get around Curly's Life bonus by saying you're going to kill the Mimiga, but Jenka gives you 1 HP for every dog you give her.

Well, assuming they still let you talk to Jenka's Dog (it's optional) in the plantation, they probably didn't hesitate to remove the HP you get after a certain event, even on hard mode.

It looks like it's impossible to do a 3-HP run on this one. You can get around Curly's Life bonus by saying you're going to kill the Mimiga, but Jenka gives you 1 HP for every dog you give her.

If I remember correctly, you can't avoid getting that HP from defeating Curly because you have to talk to her to talk to the Koron which lets you get the Dog in Curly's Room.

If you say you're going to kill the Mimiga the first time she asks, you don't get the bonus. You have to say yes eventually to get out of the loop, but you don't get the +3 HP.

Anyone know the max amount of life you can get before Hell? I'm guessing 84, because there are 2 5-HP containers and you get 1 HP from talking to each of the statues, but I went in with only 76.

Also, who else has found the Prinny Hat? It's actually hidden pretty well.

I need a hint, what area is it in?

And something about Hell, does the 290 counter go really slow in this game? I somehow managed to beat Hell in under 3'00 even though I never really got that close before.

And I do agree they could have made the final Ballos battle more epic. :/

Plantation.

 

NO ONE HAS SAID THIS BUT ME. Ok in the plantation there is a side quest you can do in the room where you get the new sprinkler it is called the inner wall and you go to the back of the cemetery and you get some kind of hat
