Cave Story 3D New Game Modes

Do you have any ideas for some of them?

I think what they could do is make a time attack mode where you try and run through an area as fast as possible and at the end get a timed score (think hell speedrun but for every stage). Or you could just have a time attack mode for the game as a whole.

 

2p wireless co-op/battle, 1p is Quote, 2p is Curly. Think it'd be fun. For batle mode you could choose from the main maps (like say mimiga village) and co-op would be a saveable story mode.

 

Co-op Cave Story would be terrible.

I'd say something like Wind Fortress Assault, kind of like a second Hell, where you have to get through maps and maps if difficult platforming and shooting, using the Wind Fortress song, of course.

 

well I think there would be a slaughter type thing,
like shooting a whole bunch of critters or somthing.

or even a "killer" robot minigame so you can kill
all the mimigas >: D

I think a coop or deathmatch type thing would be cool. (Wifi may be terribly laggy, I can see DS download play making that perfect). If not, then what cult said.

 

I think it would be cool to see a survival mode where you survive how long you can by going through randomly generating rooms (like one of the dlc modes of Megaman 9)

Oh I dunno. As is, the levels are obviously not designed for two players, and that would make it worse, but if there were specific 2 player maps I feel like it could be really fun.

 

I just want to see the Wind Fortress. But what if there was a level that you had to play through without weapons and only a booster, That appeals to me!

I think co-op would be fun even if the maps were the same, but with more enemies/enemies that continuously spawn, timelimits, maybe no monster health drops, so you'd have to rely on each other if one gets injured.
Could even toughen up the enemies, so you need double fire power.

But, yeah best way would be to have maps designed for co-op.

 

How about hell co-op? Curly wouldn't have to be tied to Quote's back, and each player could be seperate. Also, you wouldn't have to worry that much about it being too easy, because hell can be very hard sometimes. Or you could make it be a race to the finish.

I can see Time Attack leaderboards for Hell being possible. But like many leaderboards, it would probably be hacked.

True. Mabye leaderboards for Cave Story 3D would work, then?? That would actually be really cool.

And hard mode wouldn't just be a 3HP run?

Cave Story 3D is going to be the worst game ever made to 3DS if Niscalis and Pixel don't do anything better. That screens are terrible. Only play if there is a Classic Mode, with graphics changed.

 

... Don't worry, there will be a classic mode with original game sprites. However; I'm not 100% sure if the backgrounds will revert to 2d, or look any different.

Isn't it a bit harsh to call a total revamp of a game "The worst game on the 3DS" if they don't add a ton of extra features? They don't have a lot to work with, unless they add mini-games that people will (most likely) not want to play. If they added Ika-Chan as a mini-game, that's a different story.

 

Worst game on the 3DS? Oh no. I have very high expectations for tne game and unlike anyone else, I like the screenies.

 

Here's hoping that it turns out nice. I definitely think a co-op cave story sounds cool, makes me think of portal 2. I don't really know about the whole leaderboards thing, because eventually we'll hit a wall. No one new will be on the leaderboards because no one can get past "this" time, its just not possible.

 

Hmmm co-op mode sounds cool, but it'll probably be boring unless they change the layout a bit to FORCE you to work together and stay in a group or having to go seperate ways in order to unlock areas.
You know, ACTUAL team work and not just play the same game again.
