Bug-stuck with those dogs

So I'm stuck because of a weird bug in the Sand Zone. I'm going for the hard ending again, so I haven't taken the machine gun. I've collected 4 of the 5 dogs, but the last dog is stuck in the Save Point in the Bar where Curley is. Whenever I interact with it, it just says "Arf!", but I'm not given the option to take it. I've tried taking the machine gun, but I still can't take the last dog. Restarting the game also did nothing.
If it helps or is a known bug, I got the dogs in the following order:
1) The dog behind the secret passage marked by a stone with a paw on it
2) The dog in the dark house
3) The sleeping dog next to the storeroom
4) The dog that runs when you try to catch it.

Is there anyway I can solve this without completely restarting? Or as a compromise does anyone have a save file just after the dogs? (without taking the machine gun and preferably with all the health containers collected).

Thanks in advance.

Yeah one on the far left.

Again, almost all "bugs" can be solved by talking to every darned NPC, in case you forgot to trigger a flag. Before asking, go around and make sure you've talked to everyone twice, even if you think you already have.

This and the curly one seem to pop up a lot. Time for a few more troubleshooting entries. :o

I really think that this is a flaw on Pixel's part in scripting =X

The dogs should only appear on the map if the correct flag is set. I'm referring to the flag set by talking to the colon.

Correct me if I'm wrong? o.o

I know, but if enough people think it is a bug then I might as well correct them.

Reminds me of the 2nd generation Pokémon, where my friend suggested I interact with every darned sprite to finish the game.

The dogs should only be able to be found after talking to that critter? Where are the dogs before then, then? Is it just not normal for someone to pick up a random anonymous dog from chests and dark rooms and enemy-crowded deserts and outside storehouses without knowing he has to?

Um, yeah, I'd say that's pretty weird. But it's probably better than not being able to pick up the dog for no apparent reason (since it's a game) or the dogs appearing from nowhere. I think it would be better if the "first dog" Jenka conversation set the flag for the bedroom puppy.

But now that also raises the question of how do the jellies suddenly appear when you talk to the dirty slut Chaco.

That's easy.

Chaco had sex with a jellyfish while nobody was looking. *shot*

But... it's a game.. Like how T-Jack said it. And if the very first thing you did when you entered Sand Zone was to pick up a random dog, it might very well mess up the whole game's story =/

You can't pick up any dogs except for the one in Curly's house until you've beaten Omega.

But, you can fight Omega before Curly, can't you?
*goes to check that*
Yeah, actually you can. Just fought off Curly with a puppy on. Theoretically, you can "find out" all about the red flowers without meeting her. Now, is that bad?

You need the last dog to advance the plot, though. So it's not really that bad.

Argh it's just a standard RPG element-type-thingy, you have to talk to the right NPC before the plot will advance. It's not a bug, and IMO it's nice that the player is allowed the ability to explore the Sand Zone without being forced to meet Curly until later.
