Shameful stories are the funniest though. I really would tell some funny stories about myself doing dumb stuff if I hadn't repressed them all. Dumb stuff, mind you, not necessarily shy stuff. Shyness generally doesn't make for a great story.

Like Fab said, we're not at all trying to beg for pity, it's just for the sake of comedy and to poke fun at onesself.
So on topic, I still can't think of any specific real world examples, so I'm just gonna post another SAP I made sometime ages ago.

If I end up acting embarrassingly "beta" (which is a stupid word by the way), I usually try to turn it around.

A few years ago, I was walking down the hall of my high school, and this girl I had a crush on waved at me and said "Hi." I just returned the gesture, not considering why she would suddenly be so friendly. Then she got really awkward as I was still walking towards her. So I looked behind me real quick.
YEP. Another chick behind me. Hard to get more socially awkward than that. Now a typical reaction would be to bow my head in shame and run out of there, spaghetti streaming from my pockets. Instead, I kept walking up to her and said "That must have been embarrassing for you, waving at the wrong person."
I know, I'm hilarious. We never hooked up though, so clearly you guys have a better sense of humour than she does.

There are two valuable lessons you can learn. First, you can chicken out of anything, not just relationships. I advise against it, but this thread isn't for whining about our terrible luck with women. The second lesson is STOP USING FUCKING GREENTEXT.

Fab's got the idea; embarrassing stories are funny, unless they're about being shy and failing quietly at being social, those are no good.
I'd much prefer to hear your Embarassing or Funny Stories, if only there were such a place or those...

Well I don't have a personal beta story but this one time this guy did this one thing at that one place that was very, well, you know, and it was then thought as a beta story from that point on. Heheheheheheheheheh. Good times...

He wasn't backing you up? He specifically said embarrassing stories are only good if they're funny; stories about how one sucks at talking to girls/any other human beings aren't fun to read, though they may be fun to share.

I don't think anyone is being noticeably upset, at least I'm not (may have come across that way, though, whoops).
I just think that beta stories are lame.
Why not post your alpha stories instead? Those would be way more fun to read.
I dunno, I'll just leave this thread forever I guess.
