Beast Fang (Gaaah! Useless!)

Or a plot device to be exploited by whimsical hackers and modders?​

It's just there to confuse me deeply...​

first of all did you have to write that in red and centre it?
it was hard to read >_>

and i think it was going to be a used item in the game but pixel probably just didn't find a use for it and forgot about it

 

Well... in Cave Story 2: Jenka's Nightmare (ITS A MOD!)

You can go back all the way to Mimiga Village when you reach the Outer Wall and go into the Yamashita Farm. Go all the way to the right of the map and you will find a sparkling item. Thats the beast fang. After you get it, you can go back to the Outer Wall and make your way to the top-right of the map (Yes, away from the wall). I suggest you use an infinite booster hack.

There, you will see a cat with its arms stretched out on a floating platform in the middle of nowhere and it will tell you that it wants revenge on a beast that killed its parents (I think) and that being shown and given the BEAST FANG will mean that it can confirm that the beast has been killed and that his vengence has been carried out. In return for your favour, you will get the spur (if you haven't already gotten it.)

I'm not too sure about the ORIGINAL Cave Story though... No time to try =P

2: I love Jenka's Nighmare! Unfortunatly I gotted stuck somehow and now can't progress...

Fang isn't in Jenkas, it's in... one of seriousface's early mods, the 1st mod made with SW, I think. The beast fang was in resevoir's pool, bringing it to the debug kat woudl give you the spur, thus enabling you to have the snake, spur, super missiles, and sword/nemisis; making you overpowered as heck.

Not overpowered enough!
You need the regular missiles, too.
In fact, you need all the guns (blade too!).

But wow.
That's a lot of weapons.
I tried modding once to get Bubbler, Snake, PS, Spur, S. Missiles, Nemesis and Blade, but it glitched out and gave me all the weapons, includind a redundant blade and a couple of nothings.

A Beast Fang just like it is to be found in Kirby Superstar's "The Great Cave Offensive" game. A refrence, I suppose?

You were likely either supposed to trade it in for the health upgrade which currently sits there in it's place or possibly some form of "money" which was never implemented but would be used to buy weapon upgrades rather than having the golden triangles immediately do their work.

But who knows. Who cares? I like to imagine it to have lead to a secret boss battle against some vicious beast which the hero Arthur drove back a long time ago, the tooth a piece taken from it... A good boss fight means everything to me.

 

Please note that haven't slept in close to 310 hours, and I am very tired, and I think my eyes are bleeding...

Beast Fang + Alien Medal + Clay Fig. Medal + Curly's Underwear + Chaco's Lipstick + Mushroom Badge (What I refer to collectively as the Power 6) = Something of some use?

So, for my mod:
Power 6 = Nemesis
Maybe...
Or Spur.

 

I remember seeing a video somewhere (youtube maybe) where it showed him getting the fang. It showed him going into the farm and into the water where it should be but it wasn't there yet, he then left the farm area and returned back into it. It was then sparkling in the water and he got it.


Dunno how, never really cared either =x just thought I'd share.
