But...

Go fight Balrog on grasstown now without the cheap fireball strategy.
That boss fight will always have him start with flying around, this script starts him as a shooter, and does less damage.....

And you've got to use the fireball as much as possible before it gets useless D=

Ok, ok...

Ok, I'ma go make a little test fight with the 2nd form of Balrog....
If he doesn't go shooter when he hits half health, then that means this script was used there {Because all I'll have done was start the fight with the 2nd form. I won't have any swapping set up..}, but if he starts shooting at me when he's half-dead, then what we have here is an unused script....

EDIT: Ok, test concluded
I'm even more sure that this is an unused script now.
The 2nd form, Number 0036, began jumping below half health, which means that's apart of 0036's scripts. So 0010 is a separate script.
Also, I noticed Number 0036, Form 2, kicked up debris whenever it landed. Number 0010 {I'ma nickname Form 0, as that's what it's called in the NPC, and it's unused} doesn't kick up debris whenever it lands, further showing that they're two different scripts.

Well let's see... The Balrog that drops in is numbered 9, this shooting Balrog of which you speak is numbered 10, the projectile it shoots is numbered 11, and then the cutscene Balrog that idles/leaves is numbered 12. The Balrog that breaks the door is numbered 19.

From this, we can get a clear picture of what Beta Balrog was like: He would drop in, fight you, then say something, and leave. Definately NOT a minor enemy, but still came before our first boss over there. In fact, the only Balrog that was made after its "running" replacement is the one with the super missile launcher.

Perhaps Balrog originally dropped on top of Toroko when he appeared, but later Pixel decided to make him break the door instead... Then Pixel decided much much later into development that the first boss was too hard with the ability to shoot, so he replaced it with one that can't?

Okay. When you fight balrog the second time, (gliding form) when he's at like 90 health left, it becomes this form you've found here. I found this once and it took me a while to work out what it was. But when i played jenka's nightmare, the last form of the boss that looks like pooh black and acts like balrog was the gliding one and I relised it's just the last 90 health of the gliding form.

That's why I think it's actually the original first boss Balrog. The difference between this one and the "gliding" one is the extra projectiles it spews in all directions every time it lands. It would make perfect sense for Balrog to just be "upgraded" each time, at first. Right?

No, not the same...

Once again, I'd like to point out two major differences between this unused script, Balrog0, number 0010, and the second half of Balrog2....
When Balrog2 reaches 90 health, he acts like Balrog0, but he does 10 damage on contact, instead of the 5 Balrog0 does...
Also, Balrog2 scatters debris around when he lands, Balrog0 does not.

Although......the similarities make me think that even though Balrog0 was scrapped, Pixel kept the idea and used it for the second half of Balrog2...

Anyways, this unused script and the second Balrog fight are
NOT the same. {Emphasis on the NOT}

Yeah, but don't you think it's more likely that Balrog0 wasn't "scrapped" so much as it was replaced by "Balrog1", which was actually made far after Balrog2 and Balfrog and all that? Can't you agree with me on that?

I think it was...inter-graded....into Balrog2.
And Balrog1 probably replaced it's spot in the order because it's a lot easier...{Only does damage on contact, and even then it only does 2, instead of 5 or 10...}

By the way, I used the BALROG SHOOTING in my mod.
I could have sworn he is from the second battle in grass town,
right when he is about to die, he stops flying, and just jumps around.
When his health reaches low, pixel made it so the 2nd battle balrog connects
with the shooting one. That's what I think, not entirely sure.

Yeah, it's pretty similar, but once again, he does only 5 damage instead of the regular 10 on contact, and doesn't scatter debris around!!
Come on, I've said this like 10 times now...

Anyways, you're a bit late. I already had put this unused script in my mod right after I found it :D
Although, I used it in combination with some other stuff {Plural} to make it more challenging...

Does it really matter who puts the entity first or not?
Unless if you stole orgs or sprites from other people without
giving any credit, then it might be a bit more of a competition. lolz

I was just saying, sheesh =P
And I'm sure people have already put it to good use long before this thread was created...

..But, did they ever plan to make it a regular enemy {also}? >=D
{Yes, that's my idea, =P}

Haha, its no problem. Its hard to show expressions when typing,
so im sorry if you thought it was pretty serious.

I did plan to make Balrog0 (The first boss fight) a regular enemy, but
much later in the game. I never thought of making the shooting balrog
a regular enemy. Its almost that we have the same minds in our mods @_@
