I read this comic series a while ago and my brain was in a permanent state of "whatthefuck" through the whole thing. It was probably Ame trying to eat the frog in the first comic that set it up for me... people have fetishes for that, and I assumed Pixel was one of them.

It's should he pronounced "awe-me (as in me gusta, a cross between 'may' and 'meh')," but that seems to make sense.

That picture is from 1999 though, which was before Cave Story beta even, and Misery didn't exist in the Cave Story beta, so it's highly unlikely. The girl does make an appearance in Ame Manga 17 (Is it Ame's roommate? Friend? Housekeeper? Mysteries abound.)

Eh, I don't know, the only thing that looks similar is the hair, otherwise she's not pale enough and wears different clothes {Seems more like something Sue would wear, I actually thought it might be her human form, but still seems different}.
Not to mention when, did Misery get her ears pierced?

I think they're definitely different characters. Both just drawn by Pixel so stylistically similar.
It's like how he draws hair.. Ame has it too kind of!
