7 weapons

I've discovered that profile.dat can store up to 7 weapons instead of the assumed 5 (you can do 8, but it goes all glitchy choosing broken weapons and the like), check it out:

Well I discovered it by myself while experimenting with profile.dat, so can I please have my moment for now.

You probably would have to kill off some item slots so that they are not mistaken for weapons, hmm I wonder...

EDIT: Nevermind, I was wrong. Still glitches.

3: No, it was a script and a minor EXE hack... and I never saved (I mean Super Missiles, Snake, Blade, Nemesis, Fireball, Polar Star, Bubbler and Spur would get boring after a while... I figured I'd never actually play like that...). It was all zipped, and now is all locked up in my dead hard drive. *Sniffle* I'm fairly certain it was just the combination of weapons and the order in which they were gained.

Anyway I made this thread to share a discovery I made with everyone else, whether or not it was discovered before is irrelevant. With billions of people around the world the chances are very high that someone already came up with your idea before you did. What do you do when something you put effort into has already been done? Do you:
a. Feel disappointment that you have contributed nothing new or,
b. Take pride in your achievements.
I have discovered something on my own and that is something that I take pride in.

True... I've discovered lots of things discovered before already on the thread. But, didn't bother to share cause I know there'll be a thread about it up already, seeing as I joined late o.o...

The other person probably did it by making a mod with 7 weapons rather than hack profile.dat, so yay me!

Also I can put the addresses of the values (type,lvl,exp,ammo) for the last two weapons here if you want.

There might be something new amongst all that, check first don't think it's hopeless. Also share some of the details with us, how you discovered these things.
