Can you clarify what versions of OrgMaker you're comparing?: OrgMaker 1 (doesn't matter if Japanese or English, they sound the same), OrgMaker 2 Japanese, or OrgMaker 2 English. Can you clarify what problem you're having?: Were you expecting something to sound different but it sounded the...

Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing: In the third track*, at the end of measure 36 and beginning of measure 37, you have Eb3 notes that should be E3 notes: As confirmation, you can open Ikachan.pmd in PiyoPiyo, scroll to measure 37** and see track I has an E3 at that spot...

Check out our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home. I suspect the links you made were private for you or for one-time use? Maybe there's a...

Make a note of the numbers next to the bar lines where you want the repeat signs to appear. If you're using OrgMaker 2.0.5xb: Go to the Settings menu and choose Song Setup. In the Repeat Range section, put the bar line numbers you want to use in Start and End. If you're using another version...

    How ORGs work

    >I wasn't sure if the Freq parameter acts differently on each octave I also encountered the same confusion. I originally tried to understand the OrgMaker Freq value using the org2xm README file "Note frequencies" melody formula, but I learned it was wrong. Imagine OrgMaker stores a tone for a...

EXE problems When I ran your exe on my Windows XP computer it said "ORGStudioTestTools.exe is not a valid Win32 application." I tried to install Visual Studio Express 2012 to compile it myself, but the installer failed part of the way through with a similar error message that something was "not...

It looks like you're talking about the parts where the track 5 and 7 instruments are playing the same pitch in unison? Those parts sounded slightly louder to me, but not too weird. I don't have any ideas beyond what otemoto-dansei-ningen suggested (basically, reducing the volume of the unison...

Tinned_Duck's three new files are corrupt when I download them. Anyone else have the same issue? If so, then, Tinned_Duck, you may want to re-upload them. (Looking in a hex editor, I see the files begin with "Content-Type: applicaton/octet-stream", "e: applicaton/octet-stream", or...

    3/4 Time Accent

I think I've figured out what's going on. I played around with all four versions of OrgMaker (1.34 Japanese, 1.34 English, 2.05 Japanese, 2.05x English) and they all do the same thing.* In each track, when a note is played with a different volume than the previous note, it actually starts out...

[TUTORIAL] Transcribing ORGs from Music Sheets [v.1.1]

Thanks again for taking time to write this. About the Wait value -- The current formula wait = (60 / tempo) / steps_per_beat calculates the duration of a step in seconds.* The OrgMaker Wait value is the duration of a step in milliseconds. To calculate that, you can use wait = (60,000 /...

    Where did these come from?

The image looks like screen captures of Pixel's development logs from his site. I dug around in the the Internet Archive Wayback Machine and found most of the text (but no pictures). Names of .PMD's?

People familiar with Japanese or Ikachan might know of more official translations. But as a fun technical diversion, I used a a hex editor to extract the raw bytes of the filenames in the ppp_21.zip file and made the attached list.

    .ORG file structure

Wedge of Cheese's ORG file format description looks correct to me, and I think I prefer that description to older ones I used. Noxid, perhaps you're remembering the four posts starting here? If so, Wedge of Cheese edited the original post with the corrections discussed. Here are some thoughts...

    JavaScript Problems

I looked at the IP.Board Bug Tracker (filtered for version 3.3.4 to match our fourm's version), but didn't see anything there that matched. Maybe we should post something there? It looks like it only keeps the case of the J and lowercases the rest of the word jAvAsCrIpT -> javascript...

Word "expression" in post is changed

If you use the basic edit mode and you preview your post, the word expression is changed in the edit box to exp<b></b>ressi&#111;n. If you click Post or click Preview again, then the word is permanently changed to exp<b></b>ressi&#111;n. People using the basic edit mode have to be careful of...

    OrgMaker 2 update

Oops. Yes, the size of items in dialog boxes is based on the dialog box font, and some text boxes only allow input that fits within their width. I remember making the repeat range boxes a little wider to accept 3 digits instead of 2. I now see most of the boxes in the Edit dialogs (Copy, Copy...

    ORG to MIDI converter

I'm not working on a MIDI to ORG converter right now. I have only thought a tiny bit about it. Consider these differences between MIDI and ORG formats: MIDI file: No limit on polyphony stored in the file. ORG: One-note polyphony per track (8 melody tracks and 8 percussion tracks). MIDI file...

    ORG to MIDI converter

I made a public page on my website for ORGMID: ORGMID - ORG to MIDI converter. I posted source code and conversion notes there. Edit: I'm not pleased with my messy source code (mostly one big main function), but mainly wanted to share the results of my investigations into converting ORG to...

Using the MIDIs as a guide, I see the original alternates between sections of 5-beat measures and 6-beat measures. So the ORG may have to compromise time signature accuracy and settle for something that lets you put the repeat point exactly at the end.

It sounded a little off, so I compared it to the original. Some Googling told me this piece is called "Prophecy". You can find 3 different MIDI versions of it at vgmusic.com. (Go to the SNES section, then "Secret of Mana", then look for "Prophecy".) Or you can find it on YouTube. In the ORG, it...

Yes. I added credits (Studio Pixel, Rxo Inverse, Xaser) at the beginning of the text file, so download that one. (Also, I corrected the spelling of "artificial" in the executable version information.)
