That DSi port though... -shudders- Thank god for the 3DS eShop version. On this topic, I think it's possible to port it to the GBA, but you would need the original source code (or at least NXEngine's source code) and huge amounts of assembly to make it happen.

I found it because I wanted to play a game, but my PC was shit at the time. The rest was history.

I used a steam_api.dll replacement, but I can't find the specific one. It pretty much made the game think Steam was running, and it ran fine. It's pretty much akin to sailing the high seas, but I'm doing it to a legit copy.

I bumped it. Sue me. I actually managed to get it to run without Steam, but it involves replacing a file or two, and I'm sure y'all wouldn't take kindly to my method anyways.

I'm too lazy to vote, although I had a good laugh at some of these mods. But... If anyone's mod has custom orgs, and has won the contest, I'll be happy to make (and host on my Dropbox) the mod's soundtrack in .mp3/.flac format.

This reminds me of the guy who ported Wolfenstein 3D to the Sega Genesis using the original PC version's source code and some Assembly. There's also a homebrew 32X port of W3D, but it isn't nearly as impressive. Footage of the port if you're interested:

This is a nice idea, since this forgoes the need to use a PSP emulator and/or RetroArch to play Cave Story on Android, but why reinvent the wheel since NXEngine is a thing, like Noxid said? I would honestly just make a quick and dirty port of NXEngine to Android.

I don't mean to bump this thread any more, but I updated the soundtrack. The main thing is that the songs are tad louder than what they used to be, as they are all at the same volume level (-0.1 db) now, so you don't have to mess around with the volume as much. Also I fixed a couple of the tags...

I bumped it. Sue me. I was working on an Cave Story mod that was basically straight-up Cave Story, but with an MLG makeover (ex. Quiet being replaced with The X-Files theme, smoking the "Life Pot", EXP being referred to as Doritos, reworked dialogue, etc), with one of my online friends a year...

It would be cool if someone decided to pick up this game and finish it. It might not ever happen, but with all the new information that was released, I can see it happening.
