  • Fine, force me to explain the whole damn thing. About the "all the noobs see it, and it must be good" thing, that was GIR who said that. A lot of that, really, was said by GIR. Now open your fucking brain and think while you read this:

I will admit that the assembly hacking is pretty fancy, albeit a tad pointless and without any real worth. The art isn't good. It's fair, maybe alright, but not good. The story is clear from the beginning and does not falter from the initial idea, as well as poorly written, planned, and even thought-of. The ideas are just ripped from everyone else, but not in the "using other people's helpful ideas" as "imposing and looking bad." Don't tell me that I'm the only one who thinks so because you've tried that in the past and been banned for it. No one cares enough to post about it. I talk to enough of the forums outside of this fucking argument.

It's not a clever mod, it's not an aesthetically pleasing mod, and it's not a well-written mod. The only attraction is the assembly hacks. Why is he making random assembly when he could use that talent to assist in bettering other things, hm? Surely there are many modders in need of such talents. GIR is definitely a fairly good modder, but he doesn't excel in any of these other areas.

Ralren, for example, isn't very good at coming up with all of these good things, but he is open to ideas and is a very good artist. This makes him able to use other people's skills to assist him in his modding, making it a larger project than just a one-man ordeal. The problem I have with GIR is that he isn't a great artist and isn't open to different ways of thinking. He could easily improve in these areas, but he's just too stubborn to trouble himself with it. I'm sure a lot of other people could use their own in conjunction with his talents to make a masterpiece, but, again, he's too stubborn to use his codes for something other than his own "sort of alright" mod.

In short: the only reason I don't like the mods of Noxid and GIR are because of their inability to see greater possibilities.

Oh, and just so you know, you started this argument trying to disagree with us about our views of the other modders, throwing accusations of jealousy and ignorance. You didn't realize that this whole thing started because Ralren was leaving the forums and GIR didn't want him to. GIR gave all of the wrong reasons and provoked Ralren, only giving him more reason to leave. GIR DID SOMETHING GENUINELY WRONG IN TRYING TO SWAY RALREN'S OPINION USING METHODS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN SHOWN TO BE INEFFECTIVE TOWARDS HIM. HE DOESN'T LEARN AND IS CAUSING RALREN TO WANT TO LEAVE THE FORUMS. YOU DON'T LISTEN. YOU ARE NOT ONLY NOT A PART OF THIS, BUT THIS CONVERSATION NEVER HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH MODS, OPINIONS, OR ANYTHING OF THE LIKE.
I'm sick of explaining to people why their mods aren't nearly as good as you say, and it's not for any reason like Nate, it's for the actual content. I will not do it again.

Don't put your own problems off on the regular forum trafficking because that will get you no where. If you look at the way GIR and Noxid talk, they take their work above all else. Not in such a way that they suffer for their art, but in such a way that they put all other works down and consider themselves to be elevated above others. It's that ignorant tone that gets me, Lowell. You're assuming I'm wrong without even bothering to ask why I say what I do. GIR tries to make fanart and makes a big show of promoting his mod like has never been seen before. This shows arrogance, and cannot be denied.

Open your eyes, man. This isn't some big sermon against you three, this is trying to explain why Nate has a perfectly good reason to leave.
    (To all involved):

You guys are trying to call Nate out for hypocrisy, but he's only mad because none of you are listening to him. He originally said that modding wasn't a popularity contest and the most popular isn't the best.

The reason he's mad is that this so-called "popular" mods are far inferior to some lesser-known mods (not necessarily talking about him) in one respect or another, yet the creators can be so caught up in their own hype that they don't let anyone speak well of any other mods. I must rehiderate: Nate is mad because you people act like the amount of traffic your mod threads generate are equal to the size of your penis. He's not leaving because his aren't recieving "enough," he's leaving because you guys are draining away any at all with sub-par, poorly-planned updates.
Stay out of my business, Lowell.
I'm not going to live the rest of my life arguing with people around the world.
There's a delay of about one second in the game, too, so it only changes every two seconds.

Ooh! I could make only a few of them go off at the same time! It will look more consistant that way. Or maybe a wave pattern...

...or I could just set the emitters to "one shot".
I've been sitting on the same idea for a while, and I'm hoping this scheme can behave a little more like the Core than the current build. Maybe if I write this down, I'll see any bugs in it.

The very front thin layer will just be a stone or metal shape of the Core; The thin layer behind it will have the same shape made out of dissolve and cut into layers horizontally, each layer with an emitter, emitting:

    - A red piece of dark matter some ways away from the boss, like an HP meter.
    - Another piece of dissolve in front with a paint switch and a mag. key. The mag. key triggering missiles in the back layer to explode the dissolve in front of it. And the paint switch dissolving itself and the layer behind it.

This way, vulnerability can be turned on by triggering the emitters.

I guess I don't really have a way to support this monstrosity.
I notice you sre searching the forums often, is there a reason, or are you just browsing?

Also, did you read the preveiw?

Does no one have any definition for probability, I could make a dozen references to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy...
