Most trees are blue

Does anyone know if Ballos would actually be possible without using the booster? The first phase is undeniably possible, as well as the third phase, however i am unsure if the second phase is possible. I imagine it would be by using the Machine Gun at level 3, the level 3 Bubbler, or maybe even the Snake, but i'd have no way to test that for a while.
