  • I couldn't do it by myself, so I brought in professional help!
I didn't wanna let you down :mahin:
    What about something like this:
    mov eax, 0D57
    imul eax, eax, val
    mov ecx, eax
    shr eax, 10
    and ecx, 0FFFF
    shl ecx, 10
    mov edx, 8E97
    imul edx, edx, val
    add edx, ecx

That probably won't work for large values of val but do you see my method?
eax:edx would be 64 bits, so that should be at least enough to hold 7FFFFFFF^3, right?
At least, thats what my calculator tells me.
Perhaps that could be taken as evidence to the contrary though.. :0?
Because it's hard to hack if you don't feel like it.
That's an interesting theory. I wouldn't be able to test this due to compulsive napping at 3PM, but if you ever get the chance be sure to document your results.

How'd you break your context menu D:
    That's not a good sign...
Oh, cause I heard that a school in your area/city had a bomb threat.

And nah. Things are white and boring as always
Yeah, that's basically what I was going for.

And dismissing what someone else is saying isn't an inherently bad thing, if the person is intentionally being stupid (don't feed the trolls and all that). I don't think woodenrat was intentionally being stupid in that particular instance per se, but I'm pretty sure he was not trying to convey a meaningful/intelligent opinion/message either...
You know how in TWoR, the main protagonist is called The Chosen One, and the antagonist is called The Corrupter? Well, I was thinking those names (especially the former) are extremely cliche, and that I should come up with something more creative. I was thinking of calling them the Heuristic and the Algorithm, respectively. Algorithms are all deterministic and take-away-your-free-will-ish. I know technically heuristics are deterministic as well, but it sorta conveys the right message methinks. Thoughts?

Also, why are you (if my sources are to be trusted) so opposed to the phrase "cool story bro"?
I guess you could use it that way, but why can't good things come without religious connotations?
Aw come on, that statement wasn't deifying..
people say "For the love of pete" or "For the love of all that is good" too you know.
