if it always puts in a newline, then what about the cases where you don't want one?
I think it's easier to just remember to put one if you want rather than forcing one..

What are the cases where you don't want a new line for a follow up post though? I thought the point of this was to not make them separate posts, but still have some form of distinguishment. If you didn't want a new line, wouldn't you just edit the post?

well that's the point, using fast reply to ninja edit is, like, fast and easy.
if I had to actually modify the content I'd go to the edit page, but if I just forgot to tag something onto the end I can just slam it into the fastreply box

I guess it doesn't really matter either way though.

I'd rather there not be an automatic line. Doesn't seem very necessary, in truth.
