didn't review or read it or anything, because I'm too tired to go back over it.

You didn`t give a link so I searched. Is this it?

Is the work called "Misery and regret"? That`s the only cave story related thing with matching date and contents. It is by "cheatscanner", but there are no works by "IAmSerge" which made my search harder. Are you "cheatscanner"? If not, please post a link.

He was "caught off guard" (suprised by something unexpected?) because he didn't expect her to say it first.

hehe, I probably shouldn't have used slang, thought i didn't think of that as being slang at first, it is a phrase who's meaning is different than its literal meaning, and it is regionally used... =D
