Why did the Egg Corridor explode?

Except it was an explosion that caused this according to the blue robot.

The Dragon zombies caused the explosion.

 

But why did the dragon failures become such? It's not like the egg corridor was malfunctioning the first time you come through.

 

I doubt it's the dragons that caused the explosion, because the explosion caused THEM!

Think about it. The Corridor obviously implements some major advanced technology. It's likely that the eggs are allowed to grow naturally up to a certain point, at which point they are kept in stasis. At this point, a password entered into their corresponding terminal will continue the process until they hatch, likely for security and convenience reasons on Igor's Master's behalf.

Whatever explosion ravaged the Egg Corridor also destroyed the computerized system, releasing the eggs from stasis and likely destroying a few shells. Most dragons probably died, but a few of the not-completely-formed infants barely survived, though mostly blind and very weak compared to healthy adults of their species.

Of course, Egg No.0 wasn't affected at all, because it was kept separate from the other eggs in a more secure room. After all, Egg 0's room is never harmed in any way, even after the explosion.

Wouldn't the doctor be using them to fight his war if that were the case?
