weird map look?

I have noticed on some mods there is 2x resolution graphics and when I see the maps on Cave editor(what I use)The map is all weird and.. stuff..
Help me!

That's because you can't use cave editor to edit 2x mods.

Actually, cave editor displays the maps, but you need to make the 2x tilesets 1x so that the tiles don't look garbled.
If you're wondering how i know this, i was messing around in wtf story to see what would happen if i landed on a tile and jumped back up before landing on the spikes in the end, and tried making the carnival tileset 1x, and then i could add a new tile.

Go into paint, select all, and then press CTRL - (control minus), copy that image with CTRL-C, then click on edit-attributes, now change the size of the image to 1x1 pixels, and then press CTRL-V to paste, then save.
But just so you know, you cannot release you're mod of a 2x mod.

How come there are some mods with 2x resolution?

1. Don't use MS Paint
2. The tiles will in most cases die if you shrink them
3. Some mods have 2x resolution because noxid does it for them, but he won't do it unless he's in a good mood(?) and also unless you have some actual new art to show off
(Correct me if I'm wrong, although I don't think I missed anything)

3. This is also true, though I dunno about the good mood part.

Also to actually see the tiles you either have to change some options in Cave Editor to select tiles as 32x32(I don't know if this is possible) in the CaveEditor.txt or get a version of it that isn't actually available. I'm not really sure if Booster's Lab can display 2x resolution currently since I haven't used it, but I think it the future it will be able to.

BL can but you need to know the secret cheat code that I haven't told anybody about.

but my advice would be "dont' mod other people's mods" it is a really bad idea and everyone will get pretty bumrustled.

I always edit other people's mods. I just edit them really good and decide if I want to publish them or not. Con Story is a edited mod and was originally Hack9 story.

I also often edit other people's mods, but it's usually just when the design gets too frustrating for some reason or another ("Okay, those spikes there need to go..."), not to publish them.
Of course Curly's Past became an exception to that rule ;)
