I have been planning a cave story mod for about six months now, wanting to make it a fanmade game for the youtuber Markiplier.
Thus far, I have gotten about...
Well, a minuscule amount of progress done, but its coming along.
I've just been bouncing ideas off my girlfriend, but I would love some input on it.
As I said, the mod itself is hardly even existent yet...

We kinda shut down demo-less mod development discussion a while ago, after it had repeatedly failed to generate anything of worth. I'll leave this thread open, but note that you'll almost certainly have to come up with ideas yourself (and seeing as you (two) don't seem to have much of a plan to start with it would be difficult to even know what to offer). All general "how to mod" questions should be answered or answerable elsewhere in this section. Once you have a demo you can post that in Showcase if you're so inclined.

Yay, more Youtube fodder we don't need.

Also if the title of the mod is really supposed to be "WarfStory", then you might want to specify a concept from your game instead of asking for every piece of information given to you.
Knowing Markiplier, you're mod's gonna have to be damn well made in order to even attract his attention.

I feel like it.
I want to because I simply wish to test my abilities in actually being able to create something decently unique. Unique and fun to play.
And why a fan-made game?
Simply because I find that this specific person has made me, as well as others, happier in several ways, and I wish to thank him with an enjoyable game to play.
I do have a story line down, as I said, I have been planning this for around six months. I have been studying how to mod cave story, as well as several aspects that make a game enjoyable.
I shall try my best, and I truly mean it.

Ok.

Some things to make a mental note of, however:

Nobody cares of you succeed.

Nobody cares if you fail.

You will reach a point in which you need feedback, but will receive nothing. A point in which you will meet stagnation. A point in which you will run out of ideas, run into writers block, or genuinely not want to work on the game anymore.


If you can handle that, then all the luck in the world to you.

You have most of the main story down, so anytime you need help Sethers and i shall help in giving you ideas.

Maybe you'll receive more ideas, and you can post the ideas you already gave so people aren't clueless about what you're doing and they don't have to say anything related to you not having anything planned. :3
