I came across this page using The Wayback Machine and thought it might be of interest.

Here is information on the songs where it mentions Cave Story (洞窟物語):
マグマン (Maguman): It was going to be used in "Cave Story".
異郷 (Foreign Land): Was scheduled to be used in "Cave Story".
深海 (Deep Sea): Was scheduled to be used in "Cave Story".
洞窟物語 (Cave Story): Was supposed to be the "Cave Story" theme song.

I also noticed that the 雨 song is the song death sound for Cave Story Beta in that one video clip of it if you listen around here:

Regarding some of the other songs:
Interestingly, it says 雨 (rain) was originally for piano.
苦手 is another song originally for piano, and 鉄の迷子 was composed on guitar.
And 雨に紛れて was the theme song of Studio Pixel? I'm not sure what that means..
Mother it says is a copy of the theme song of the game Mother.
月の見える丘 is a copy of a song from ネコジャラ物語 (a GameBoy game).

Does anyone know what "空飛ぶ犬のお話" is? Also, another description mentions "犬が飛ぶお話".
These have similar translations, but I'm assuming they're the names of something..
