Punishing users for replying to someone who avoids his ban every chance he gets and is going to keep coming back no matter what because they replied to him? That doesn't make any sense at all.

And Mods aren't supposed to make up their own rules on the spot and start enforcing them, only enforce the current rules.

Just ban his accounts on site and delete his posts/threads. Don't start punishing users for talking to someone, that is even more silly than banning someone for posting in a spambot thread.

The intent was to let people know that we don't want them responding to merlinoboy just like we don't want them responding to spambots. I hadn't thought it would be anything that someone would actually end up wanting to break.
