This is a story set in the parallel world of Cave Story. After defeating Ballos, Quote and Curly left the floating island, while the Mimigas and others moved to live on the surface. One day, when Quote, Curly, and King all left the village, a certain monster began plotting to kidnap all the Mimigas.

The map titles show '??'.
Pressing Q at the inventory to go back doesn't work all the time, feels a little glitchy. Similarly, when you choose 'No' to the prompt 'Eat it?' the item description will loop over and over a few times before it lets you get back to the inventory. Not sure what's going on.
I really like the fishing mechanism!
The equals signs around items don't show up as circles.
Maybe it's just me, but Toroko's usage of the distressed face portrait doesn't really fit her dialogue.
The sprite below you when you jump with the spiked boots seems unnecessary, it's a little distracting.
Monster X is cute!
The tilesets change very abruptly in the area around Monster X's house, it feels a little weird.
The Mannans in Grasstown are very uniquely designed for Cave Story's shooting-style action. Here when you can just jump on them from above they're not much fun to play with. Unfortunately I don't have any ideas to offer but I feel you can tweak some of the enemies to better suit the kind of action you have in this game.
The part of the cave with the moving blocks feels a little too 'clean-cut', you can add some decorative tiles to the map there (small rocks, etc.)
Oh wow Beta graphics!
Some enemies have the same hurt sound as the player character, which is kind of confusing.
I like how you detailed Kanpachi's expression when dragging the Arowana.
I like how you gave an option to skip to the boss fight.
The first boss fight is way too hard!
The knock visual effects being used on the door is very creative and works well.
If I had a nickel for every time Jack exclaimed incredulously that Toroko's been kidnapped...
It would be nice for the heads up display to note which player you are.
"But we wouldn't go back without finding them anyway, so let's keep moving..." This line is so sweet!
First time seeing someone use Azarashi music in a CS mod. Nice! Wonder why it's not used more often though.
I like how Balrog demonstrates with the counter :mrgreen:
I just noticed that Santa doesn't have face portraits. You should make some!
I'm so glad to see Igor alive. And all these shops that remind of us various things from the island, it's nice.
I can't seem to figure out how to get past this room with the Sunstones... any help? Is the idea to light up all torches at once? They go out too fast to do that.
Overall I really like this mod, there's a lot of creative mechanics, good dialogue and character writing, level design is challenging but not too hard. Good work!

Edit: More notes
Leaving the other player on AI makes it susceptible to die in instakill spikes, so you have to keep switching to guide both characters safely in dangerous places. This isn't bad, but the logic of switching characters is very confusing. I just end up pressing shift repeatedly until it gives me the result I want, but it seems to be very inconsistent. I wish there was a place you could configure this - have the shift key cycle through only certain options, perhaps.
Looks like my cpu cannot handle too much ghost fireball lighting at once, so thanks to my poor hardware i cannot complete the sand zone jumping puzzle. I liked the mod though, I hope you take it further (I'm not sure if it's complete yet).

Actually, it indicated, when the stomp will actually damage the enemy. You don't see it underwater and therefore can't stomp underwater enemies.
The first boss fight is way too hard!
Did you happen to only have 8 max HP? I had the same "oversight" (you apparently can eat fish to increase it?) and was retrying for 40 minutes until hitting RNG on blocks, that doesn't oneshot me.
It would be nice for the heads up display to note which player you are.
Well, you are one without "AI" tag. In P2 mode, you are one with P1 tag. Although it is small due to how huge the aspect ratio of this fangame is.
I can't seem to figure out how to get past this room with the Sunstones... any help? Is the idea to light up all torches at once? They go out too fast to do that.
Just spam. That's the only answer. It is indeed a thing, that doesn't pack too big of a punch despite the glitter.

Ah! I thought that eating fish would restore your health, not increase your maximum health. So I was trying to save it for later.

The game now includes a Normal mode, while the original version has been adjusted to Hard difficulty. In Normal mode, as long as you've played Cave Story, you should be able to beat it—I've tuned the difficulty to be much easier in this mode.
