Frenzied from other things.
"There is no proof", as you like to say. Or, better yet, there is evidence that they're frenzied from the red flowers.

What evidence (or "what proof", to use my words)? The petals? There's petals looking exactly the same in Arthur's house, and none in the Mimiga Village is frenzied. Even the motorbike in Grasstown/Bushlands look almost the same.

(Hope I'm making an convincing argument... o_o*)

Yes, the petals. Seeing as there are petals scattered around in Arthur's house, and Arthur is dead, and there are only six Mimigas left in the Village out of the hundreds that lived there before Fuyuhiko's rise, it's not surprising that there is noone in the Village is enraged (in contrast to Igor, whose petals are scattered in the Egg Observation Room, and that Mimiga in Grasstown/Bushland (anyone see a running gag?), whose petals are scattered in it's own house). And what's that about the hoverbike? No, seriously, could you please explain it to me?

Its (crashed) sprite looks a bit like the scatterd petals one, but pink instead of red...

Sorry about that, might've drunk too little coffee today.

I'm sure the stems and/or leaves are what causes the rage, because, as noted before, petals have been left scattered, meaning they most likely do not do anything, or it could be that mimigas do not eat the petals of flowers.

Maybe it's not even the stems or leaves, but the pollen.
Kinda like super-hypo-deadly allergies?
O.o;

EDIT:
Oh no, I hate Toad...

If that was the case, King might've gotten frenzied in the flower before he died, and Toroko before she ate them.

Perhaps the pollen must enter the stomach, specifically?
If that was the case, breathing them in should have no ill-effect...

You said it was magic, though...
The Red Crystal would be like taking the spicy-ness in a thousand chilly peppers, and then concentrating them into a single drop.
Your tongue would cease to exist ^.^

Hence why it acts so funny compared to the Red Flowers...
This idea makes great sense, if you think about it...

Taking those 2 things from the flowers, and concentrating them...
What if Arthur did that to Igor (Arthur, Igor's master) with concentrated red flower?

Also, with Toroko, it's the exact reverse of her nature: She is kind, gentle, and refuses to hurt anyone (other than trampling King).

With so much willpower and thought and such to overcome, the effects of the Red flowers would make her larger, due to the amount of rage it would generate, but also the amount of rationality the flower had to destroy.

Well, Humans cant eat red flowers for sure. So it must have been the crystal's power that transformed Sue. But when did Igor eat the red flower?

Also, why can't humans eat red flowers?

it's like chocolate.

We can eat it, and be fine.
Dogs eat it, they die (I HAZ PROOF!)

Think of that, but with red flowers being THEIR chocolate.

We eat the red flowers, nothing happens.
They eat it, and go insane.

And even the Doctor agrees with me. He says, "And, unlike the red flowers, this crystal also affects humans." in his final speech.
