If I went with teh Nemmy, would it be cruel to put a limit of 25?

If you started with the Nikimaru counter, would anyone know how to make it save then load a previous time?
Or, should I make all the save point disappear when you turn the counter on?
Also, though I know it's so cliché, would a "You killed my father. Prepare to die." subplot be acceptable?

EDIT: Also, re the above, would a good reward for killing a huge group of those thingys (Drolls, I think - the mud guys that toss their arms at you) be the Missile Launcher, providing you do it with only your starting health? And yes, that would be part of the subplot. (Teh Drolls be pure evil!)

EDIT EDIT: Also also, I need a spriter... I have so much scripting and level-laying out to do that the graphics side of things will suffer if I do it. I'm kinda looking for some killer robot sprites (Gaudi AI) and something like the Gravekeeper, but with a different color scheme. Any help will get your name on the credit sign.

Also also also, I need a purple cube-looking-thing for the Pignon and Giant Pignon AIs... It should only be visible as a thin dark square, except when it moves.

There isn't a real "boss fight"... As of yet.

I've decided to do the unexpected with regards to weapons: Missile Launcher. (Starts at 15, upgrades come in bundles of 5, 10, and 25, and I *may* re-sprite the missiles... Make them closer to the name of the weapon - IGR (Inertial Gathering Rounds) Cannon)

Ummmm...
What else...
Over my Spring Break, all I really did was re-do the weapon selector graphics and the weapon names.
They are as follows:
Snake > Phase-Shifting Wave Cannon
Polar Star > Photonic Projectile
Fireball > Plasma Spheres
Machine Gun > Chainlaser (or Chainlazor...?)
Missile Launcher > IGR Cannon
Bubbler > Regenerating Bubble Matrix
Blade > Shuriken (might not even use the Blade, though...)
Upgraded Missile Launcher > Self-Accelerating IGR Cannon
Nemesis > IPIC (Isolinear Polyphasic Instability Cannon) (Say whaaaaa?)
Spur > Dragon's Fury (TM) or Singularity Particle Stream

In case you hadn't guessed, this is a sci-fi spin on CS, and many of the levels will be based in space, with water being replaced by space (same physics, same air restriction... Why not?). Booster will be vital for these portions, as will the Air Tank (Enviromental Field). I'm also going to script in an event that basically does "Has Booster 2.0, if damage taken, switch to Booster 0.8, if damage taken, switch to none" and have the health stations repair the Booster.
So, in a sense, the Booster will be one item, with two realistic incarnations (Full (2.0) and Damaged (0.8)).

So, expect to see a LOT of the Almond tileset, as doing another one when such a perfect on is already present is, well, silly.

Ummm... What else...
Not much.
Oh, and, yes, the main Character's name will be Tilde. There will not be a Curly or Quote (although references may be made to the Earth mission~), nor Red Flowers (Maybe~), nor an evil doctor and a helicopter escape sequence. There will be Star Trek references, Andromeda references and maybe a Buck Rogers reference. There will be a lot of little Blue Bots and a lot of Plasma-Energy creatures. And maybe Tribbles.

However, despite the ambitious nature of the project, all I have so far is a few sprite changes, a start area (with the Maze tileset...? Oops.) a major script overhaul and a major major removal of all the old maps. Going from scratch, FYI.

Based on current progression and random other factors, I'm aiming for December. Though it mights see a huge amount of progress over the next few days.

Ps.
I've decided that this project will be codenamed "Error" and will come in three phases: Ctrl, Alt, Del.
I am currently 40% into Ctrl, 10% into the storyboarding of Alt and haven't touched Del.

Things that are for certain:
The character's name is Tilde.
It is set in space.
Doors will be rare.
Falling off the edge of a platform level will result in insta-death (as per usual rules).
The Booster will take damage.
There will be a Blade.
The won't be the Snake (Maybe~ Maybe it's a secret.)

There won't be:
Boss fights.
Gravity for some levels.
Any real use for the Mimiga mask.
