This thanksgiving, I had an idea for a mod.
So me and my brother, bombchu link, put this together:

Thanksgiving Story

It's a seasonal mod, it's not the first mod that I've
worked on, but the one that I've worked the most on.

I'd love to play this, but apparently my computer detects it as "dangerous" and refuses to download it. Are you trying to pull some malicious prank like you did in your last released mod?

it's because it's been downloaded less then 20 times and google says (rightfully so) that it could contain viruses.

It doesn't, but that's besides the point of the warning.

And no, it isn't a joke mod.

In one part of the level, I got stuck and there was no way I could go back to the upper levels.

You have to use the shotgun to fly. (similar to the machine gun at lvl 3)

I didn't know that Thanksgiving was on a different date in Canada....

Because, pairing a slow, lazy mimiga with a energetic one makes more for comedy and especially when the energeti one makes the other one do work.

Quote is more then use to doing this kind of stuff, but for Santa, it's a whole new ball game.





You know, this mod really says "HaydenStudios" in my opinion, especially the ending.

 

Am I the only one who ships Santa and Chaco? They seemed like a perfectly realistic pair to me.

Ye gods... I can't even begin to imagine gay Santa.

 

When I first saw bombchulink's signature I thought that Santa was setting everything afire.

After playing this I became mildly disappointed.

He'd probably be exactly like Santa. Since you don't see him humping any women in the game, nothing would change.

 

I found this mod somewhat entertaining. I'd have to say this mod's strength would be the dialogue and cutscenes. I also really liked the re-skinned Grasstown, it gave the place an appropriately festive feel. I liked how you could take an alternate path and try to cheap your way out by buying a frozen turkey, that was pretty funny. My favorite part would have to be the dialogue between all the characters when everyone's arriving. There are quite a few typos that slipped through, though. And I'm afraid they're too numerous to be excused by the fact that this was made on a deadline. I'm not real crazy about your changes to the Grasstown theme. All the parts that you changed sounded off-key. I'd also have to say this mod was a bit hard for my taste. The only save point was back at your house, which you can't enter back into until you've gotten a turkey. In addition, there are a lot of instant death spikes. A lot of the time I'd be falling and not know whether or not I was directly above death spikes. Many a time I would instantly die when I didn't know where I was falling. I'd say cut down on the instant death spikes. I didn't get to the end because I encountered the last glitch mentioned below. Here are the glitches I found:

- "Oh good, you're here just in time." The "n" in "in" got cut off.
- "Your gun *I*s in the closet,"
- "You mean the guy who made this mod?" It's not common style to indent like that, so I'll assume that's a typo.
- "hex editer"
- "leave a teleporter down there! it takes..."
- "Good Grief"
- "No! not the Rolling Pin!"
- "couldn't the makers come up with something more creative then that???"
- "I'm going to enjoy this break, That's for certain!"
- "eat all the same foods. though I really like..."
- "it taste's good"
- "Oh, yeah? what's your favorite?"
- When I talk to Jenka, the mod crashes.

I'd like to continue through if you fix that last glitch, because your brother seemed to imply that the ending has my fingerprints on it.

EDIT: Actually, I watched JonSpider's stream and saw the very end, so I guess I'm done playing this mod and probably won't try out any subsequent releases.

I went back and checked over the text twice for errors.

Anyway, It's fixed.

*sigh* I can never seem to find all the errors.

About the difficulty, it's suppose to be very hard.

If you die enough, there is a cheat mode you can enable.

And yeah, I'll remove some deathtraps.

I'm honestly surprised that you didn't like the song all that much, I thought that it was really good. Oh well, to each his own.
