Yes thats a REALLY good idea, it is pretty difficult to find a good looking avatar while staying under the KB limit.

What do you mean by "not 50 kb"? Did a file under that size not upload, did a file over that size upload, or is it displaying the wrong limit? If you couldn't upload something then what was the filesize (in bytes) and dimensions of the image in question?

What was it before?

Its really hard to find good pictures at that size limit.
Seriously?

Unless your image is either animated or overly large (dimensions-wise) because you are too lazy to resize it yourself there is no chance you would ever meet a 20kb limit let alone a 50kb one. -_-

It's 100x100, not 2345x3463 or whatever. You have MS Paint on your computer for a reason.

No, my pictures are really high-definition so it is hard.

Alright this is a really minor complaint, but is there any way to bring back the message that shows a message has been deleted. (Y'know, "this message has been deleted by whoever. Reason: whatever"). As I said it's not really important and it's mostly out of nosiness, but I guess it's somewhat useful too???

That would be useful in case someone says something they want to erase from existence - other people will see that that person deleted a post and people who replied to that post aren't crazy/spamming.

I prefer it without the message, hard deletes are cool beans.

Also the limit was 100 kb before, and the size limit is 100x100, so all my avatars look dumb.

But it's incriminating evidence

I'm with Cultr here, I don't think deleted posts should show up- it can junk the topic up sometimes.

I'm with desu on this one: Hard deletes done by users can just cause confusion and could be abused to make someone look like they're replying to someone else (but really, that's what the quote tags are for).

I had a look for both the avatar size setting and the soft-deleted post viewing permissions but I found nothing, sorries :koron:

Personally I don't think deleted posts need to be viewed.

Yeah, I don't think the amount of times people could abuse deleting posts outweighs the benefits of deleting a mistake that you don't want seen.

I hate incriminating evidence, it's just a waste of space. And isn't the point of deleting something for it not to be there? I mean, that's the only time I've ever used a delete function, I'm really pleased with the way it is now.

The avatar limit is under members > member groups > manage member groups > (group name) > global.

It isn't good If users can't see their own deleted posts. Even then, it's information that shouldn't be lost. Everyone has the right to see some record of a thing that has happened on the public part of the forums.

Maybe it can be a small message that says "show deleted post" but can't be quoted or anything. Also you can view the reason they deleted it.
