Well, to make an online multiplayer game you need the registered version of Game Maker. There is a simple tutorial on the main site that shows you how.

My Game Maker is registered.
Game Maker 7 or Game Maker 6.1?

It probably works on both (though I can't be certain). Here's the link to the tutorial from the site: Tutorial
Mine isn't registered so I can't really confirm anything. Hope it helps!

Well ive been using gamemaker for a really long time, and the tut. on the gamemaker home page will help you with a basic connection between two computers or more and most of it is only drag and drop, Most of my engine is fully coded, i use mplay to save space only thing that sucks about that is you need an outside dll. file, and the tut teaches you how to do this with out it as far as i know.

But this is Game Maker 7.0, I can't use it and can't play the games because my windows is too old...

Well you see I dont use 7.0, I use 6.1. I like 6.1 better, 7.0 was moved on to a diffirent company and I dont really care for the changes they made.
So you might be able to play after all.

Game Maker really makes multiplayer games hard. The data send/receive method gets complicated. And you can't create/destroy objects during a game session. You might seriously consider a more powerful game engine, or just C++.

Note: Look up GarageGames and Torque. It has a pretty good engine. I'm not sure if it's multiplayer though.

Ive been working with Multiplayer gamemaker for a while now and its really not that hard once you know what your doing, and I can so create/destroy during a game session with a simply line of code for that matter, so ill just stick with gamemaker, but thanks anyway.

Yeah I don't like it too, because they haven't Windows 98 support anymore r_r
But anyhow, I move to XP soon...

Of coarse, as soon as you do, they'll come out with GM8 that only works on Vista.

Not if their main userbase isn't switching to Vista.

Spiffiton wants to make a online Cave Story. Not sure how it's working out though.

Go back and read the thread first, so you know what's going on.
