But in all seriousness, why is this even a discussion.

Copyrights are literally forever and neither Pokemon nor Cave Story will ever be on a PlayStation system. Unless Sony buys out Steam or Nintendo (or vice versa). Which is highly unlikely unless the respective owners pull a George Lucas and sell their life's work for a cool $4 billion.

(Please, PLEASE tell me someone got that clever as fuck joke).
