Hi again people! So, today I bought the Nintendo eshop port of Cave Story and I was wondering if like the Wii port, it's possible to get to the Running Hell on easy mode. Can I save Curly and get the Booster 2.0? The only thing I know is that on CS+, you could get to Hell only on Normal and Hard mode. That made me a little sad when I discovered it, but then I found on the internet that on the Wii port, you could get there on easy. Also, I read that you could change Quote's clothes on Wii by pressing a combination of buttons. Does that still exist (altough I don't believe it does)?

I believe regardless of the difficulty, as long as you do the necessary steps to reach hell, (Saving Curly, ignoring booster) you should be able to get to it. I can check, but most likely by the time I do, other people will tell you the correct answer.
Also, people who said you can get only hell on normal or hard on CS+ is wrong. You can get to Hell on any difficulty as long as you do the steps you need to do. (I remember another rumor being that you need the Nikumaru Counter/290 Counter in order to get to hell, However, you don't need it.)
As for the changing colors on Quote, I believe it still exists. You automatically get certain colors depending on the difficulty you play on.
(Yellow if you choose Easy, Red if you choose Normal and Blue if you choose Hard. This does not affect Curly at all for the Curly Story, so don't try.)

Thanks for the reply! That made me relax. I will try it on Easy anyway.

I believe I have found an easier way:
(Clothes cheats work on any difficulty)

I have Cave Story for DSiWare and it IS possible to get to Hell in Easy Mode. It's just as hard as normal mode on the most part.

I thought easy mode wasn't in the DSiWare version?

Here's pictures I took of my 3DS just right now with Cave Story DSiWare on it.

And on a couple save files in the two pictures, you can see Quote in his yellow outfit.
Note that Quote is also in the Prefab House in the bottom save file. Of course, that doesn't really mean anything but the DSiWare version has easy mode.

Even though both versions are good, I prefer the DSi version. It's been a while since I've played it, but it feels easier to see everything on the DSi version, where the eShop version feels a little more zoomed out. Unfortunately, I don't think the DSi version is available anymore. Not on the 3DS at least, it may be DSi exclusive now.

It takes getting used through the second room. It's even harder to go under 6 minutes (something I have yet to do) or even 3 minutes (too hard for me) as you see the Nikumaru counter running.

Hey there's something offtopic I would like to ask. At the Jukebox there's only 4 boxes with question marks. I Already beat the game but nothing.

Sorry for the bad quality, my webcam sucks

How do I unlock these? Does anybody know the name of these songs?

Alright, the top missing one is Hero's End (if you pick the bad ending)
The second one is The Way Back Home (if you pick the good and best endings)
The 2 bottom ones are Toroko's Song (if you beat Hell under 6 minutes) and White (if you beat Hell under 3 minutes)

Oh well. I believe I'll only get the first ones. I can't imagine how hard is to beat Hell under 6 minutes, but 3 MINUTES? THAT'S INSANE!!!

That is incorrect, you only have to beat Hell in under four minutes for White. This is actually a very manageable time to get if you attempt it every so often.

My highscore for hell is 4:12 on normal mode.
It took a LOT of raging... (especially at the second room THOSE F*CKING BLOCKS)
I was so close to filling up the jukebox...
Ah well... T_T
3 minutes though...
I...
I just can't imagine it!
