Running cave story on Windows 7...

I got this new laptop, and it has Windows 7.

However when I run cave story here, it's either slower and choppier than the original or slightly faster. The sounds seem fine, just the gameplay. I've experienced slow motion only once though, and it was in a mod.

So, is there any way to return the speed to the original or am I doomed?

 

I run on 7 and it goes fine... but, it's always been on the slow side due to my cheap parts.
Best thing to do I suppose is set the priority to high via task manager if you want it to go faster but that might also make it a bit choppy for some reason.
