Though as much fun as it is for DoubleThink to gain a reputation, maybe we could prevent another thread lock by achieving a mature and conceivable conversation, that is of course if you could actually handle something like that (looks at all 15-or-so of you).
I only know of a handful of turn-based strategies, never quite found a real-time one that peaked my interest enough for permanent remembrance, too much commitment it seems in my opinion. Shame, I would pull out FrozenSynapse and that one obscure web game that was forever deleted from the internet, in which I may one day recreate because that was some of the best mechanics I've ever seen.
But seriously, putting the number "2" after a username is not a thread we want to see.
The only RTS I've gotten remotely confident at is SC2, I'm still terrible and have barely any idea what I'm doing but I know the zerg units and I have a good control group setup for injecting hatcheries and all that.
I've played a bit of AoE2 with Noxxy too, but I haven't really gotten the hang of it.
I do love the genre though, I wish I could get more into it. I might just need to find the right one for me.
Last one I played was Brutal Legend and it "rocked". A must for any metal/music/RTS fan. It's with Ozzy Osbourne, and seems like part of Humble Bundle.
Earlier: Warcraft III, Warcraft II, Warcraft I, Command%Conquer, Red Alert 1 and tried some random ones I can't remember, briefly.
