RIP Mirai Gamer

I don't know how recently, but the Mirai Gamer Forums have closed down.

All that nostalgia, gone in an instant.

They've been closed for several months now. Still a shame. At least it won't be raped by spambots posting child porn anymore.

 

That happened? What a shame I wasn't there to witness it.

Technically it was "child models", but amongst the sea of random words the particular spambot spewed, there were several instances of the term "nude child model". It was disturbing to say the least.

Anyway yeah, it's pretty sad.

 

But now I has a sad.

Goodbye Future Gamer forum that only dealt with retro games.

I'm pretty sure that all of the old threads from mirai gamer are on this forum now, mimish! for instance.

 

All the old threads have always been on these forums.
It's just that some of us spent quite a bit of time on mirai, and it's the origin of this site.

Not only ninja'd me, but also a very sad thing to lost those threads.


Though after taking a look inside the mod panel on that forum none of it is truly gone, Thomas just closed the entry into the forum and left a message for everyone. I hope everything is going well for him.

Strange how I never found this reply. I guess I'm a bit late, but I'll give an honest answer. It will sound kinda cheesy, but whatever.

I was mostly active on the forums in 2010 and maybe a bit of 2011. The connections I had with my friends in real life had died for some reason, I was so far behind, I had lost all of them. They had forgotten about me. I became an outsider. Betrayed by a close friend who I would've called a bro (my biggest mistake was trusting him). He forgot all the good times we used to have and just decided to be a douche to me. I didn't have the guts to do anything. The only friends I had were these forums. I would spend my nights on irc, or on skype. During this strange period of my life, those were the only times when I was truly happy.

Fortunately that's the past.

 

It might be heresy for me to reply to this thread since it's so old, but damn...I forgot about Mirai. Crazy times back then. Like when I was still an immature teenager and made two hideous spammy threads that somehow became so large it was the first result when you googled the site and probably made every Mod and Admin hate me. Good ol days, amirite.

It saddens me a little bit to think that like 3/4 the current active members have no idea what miraigamer was

 

If it's worth anything, I do...

Sometimes I take a trip in the Wayback Machine and go visit MiraiGamer. Such an odd time, to me...strolling around the site and stuff, I kind of get an odd sense of nostalgia even though I logically shouldn't. Is that normal?

 

How would you even go about that
