Hi. I'm new on this forum so sorry if I did something wrong with this thread.
And sorry for my bad english :3

In Cave Story plus all the music is in ogg format with variable bitrate (~64kbps) and 44.1khz. I trying to replace it with Cave Story 3D OST, which is far better then the crappy CS+ remixes. So, I convert mp3's to ~64kbps, 44.1khz-ogg's, and replace original files. But it didn't work: when you go to a needed location, it plays music from the previous location.
Can you please help me with this?

What do you mean by "it plays music from the previous location"?

I save game in Arthur's house for example. And I replace music of mimiga village. So when I load game and exit Arthur house, it continues to play music from Arthur house IN mimiga village.

And after leaving the mimiga village, does it keep playing Arthur's house?

No, it just replaces changed files with last played music. I guess it can't detect it or something.

How interesting.
I'm not 100% sure what the memory map of CS+ looks like, but I'll check it out when I get home.

To confirm what I think is happening:
- Load Save in Room A, plays Music A
- Go to Room B, plays music A, should be playing music B
- Go to Room C, plays music B, should be playing music C
etc?

I am also interested in what happens if there is an <RMU.
So see what happens (musicwise) if you get the map system

I get it! Turns out it doesn't like file size or duration. So I need to make a ~1 minute loop of every track.

To confirm what I think is happening:
- Load Save in Room A, plays Music A
- Go to Room B, plays music A, should be playing music B
- Go to Room C, plays music B, should be playing music C
etc?
No, it goes like this:
- Load Save in Room A, plays Music A
- Go to Room B, plays music A [cause can't read big ogg file i put in], should be playing music B
- Go to Room C, plays music C [cause i did not touch music C]

Doesn't the newest version of Cave Story+ already do that? :D

Also, you shouldn't post a link to a retail game.... even if it's an old version
