Regarding the user levels..

You know, the things below a user's avatar/personal message. Goes up by how many posts you have, it seems..

Is there a way to keep a specific one, or customize it eventually, turn off viewing them, or remove it altogether? I'm just curious, specifically I think the "officially worth 1 rupee!" thing is the greatest and I've just seen it for the first time after my own first post. I guess it's no big deal and it's kind of cool to watch it 'evolve' as you stay here longer, but ...well, I mean, as much as I love Chrono Trigger, I like a lot of the earlier ones more than the Nu one, for example.

I just thought I'd ask as soon as I thought of it, rather than just wonder.

What, to have a posting point in which you could choose your own user level? Eh...it could bring trouble, but, then again, it would only be available to those with a high number of posts...so you would choose something to display proudly having reached a high point. (plus, it would be nice to see something beyond Nu)

 

When you have 10 posts and are here for a week, you get an avatar. When you get 250 posts and are here for 100 days, you can type a custom user title, the phrase under your name (Neophyte Member). Mix and match for great justice.

He's just giving him something of an alternate.
Since we can't change those post title things, we can do that instead. {Which Captain does a lot of, himself}

 

The only way is to ask an Admin to change your post count.

Otherwise it's not possible to set something like that up.

Not true. Forum magic was actually confirmed a few months ago.
However, it's fairly limited itself.

Changing someone's post count is so simple it only takes 4 seconds.

No, I mean setting up a system where you can choose your personal icon from a drop-down list is not possible.

 

Technically, since this whole forum is possible through programming, it would be possible to create a droplist in options that allow certain users with an obscene amount of posts to choose a personal icon to represent it. In fact, it would be possible to allow someone to create a custom quote through that as well.

However, the major difficulty is in first getting access to said code and modifying it to the point where such things would be possible. Without the help of an admin, such a thing could not happen.

While it is not CURRENTLY possible (due to the fact that it doesn't exist yet), it is however, possible to do such a thing. Programming allows you to do a near infinite number of things. This wouldn't be THAT hard to create.

But, I am merely speculating and putting my thoughts out.

It IS possible though. (by my standards, anyway.)
