PEPPERED: an existential platformer

What a ride...

I've been buying more games than I have time to play, but this one gets a shoutout! Hadn't been watching it, so what a nice surprise.
I'd call it a platforming narrative Based cinematic adventure game (with some mini-games...). There are a multitude of endings, so your initial impression may vary depending on your choices...

An existential platformer where Doomsday is just around the corner. Save the world or become an eternal corporate slave for the God of Death. Choices matter. Or do they? Goof around and find out.

While it doesn't have the fighting freedom of Cave Story, giving it a longer shelf life than the story, I was very impressed with the interactive audio/visual feast delivered by this (first time??) dev. (And maybe you will be too?)
It's a shorter game, mostly linear, but I've been playing over 10 hours with my replays so far it seems. It's still on the introductory sale for the next 30 hours as of writing this...

I watched someone play a large chunk of it, it looked very charming.
Kudos to the devs for some of the extremely bold choices they made in this too, whoa.

 

oh, my friend (rather enthusiastically) recommended this to me - it looks interesting and i'd like to check it out at some point although i haven't really been gaming much recently bah...
