Org Making Discussion

I was thinking, there should be a topic to help people with org making (like tips, programs, etc.), so I decided to make this. Just post questions or tips, stuff like that.
I put this in hacking/modding because org making is a large part of modding.
...I made this because I'm having trouble with orgs as well.

Here, I'll start: are there any specific sounds that are used commonly for cave story hacking? There's tons to choose from!

This would probably be better as a guide. We need a few non-Cave Story Specific hacking guides. For music and sprites and whatnot. It's cooler than just giving links.

 

I'd make a guide on music, but I'm so bad at explaining things that I don't think I could do it.

Well something I do is make my songs as a midi first then I copy that song over. Because with midis you don't have to click your note a whole bunch of time to make it long and layering is easier. For actually composing a good tune one thing I do is play each note out in my head, then decide whether the note is higher or lower than the one I just placed, and go through the notes until I find what I want. I would also recomend some practice.

I can never seem to pick the "right" notes when trying hy's method, and always lose the melody in my head if I screw up, so what I do is hum to one of my pitch-perfect friends, and he transcribes it onto a staff.

Do whichever, but I've always found this to be more helpful.

I do not have one of those. Just a friend I send my music to and he improves. But I need a tune for that, "note, I am aware my strategy doesn't always quite work"
