Of the four taste buds, which one is most important?

Sweet, Sour, Bitter, Salty.



While most people would say sweet I would have to say sour myself, since sour can replace a lot of things sweet does, while doing even more than sweet could even dream of.

As for the most worthless of the tastes I would have to say it would be a tie between bitter and salty.

 

Maybe salty. Because of Twisties® and that sweat is almost the best thing in excretion. which is why so many people gain hypertension T_T
Yes, besides urination. I haven't experienced it before, but even if I will it won't be making most of my day.

You know, they've actually discovered two more types of taste buds (fat and savory).

 

Of the original 4, I'd have to say Salty (Non-stereotypical answer for fail), though Sweet comes a close 2nd & Sour a closer 3rd.

However, if you include the Fat & Savory taste buds that Wedge of Cheese mentioned, Fat might beat Sour by a slight margin...
